You’re listening to the Transform Your Life from the Inside Out podcast. This episode is titled, Who Says It Has to Be This Way? Look at your life and pick something that you would like to change. Maybe it’s your body, maybe it’s money, maybe it’s even a relationship. Now, what I’d like you to do is notice both your thoughts and your actions about these things that you want to change and when you do that what you’ll find is that most times your thoughts and your actions are not aligned and this is exactly why you often never create what you want in life most people give up in this place and my question is why does it have to be this way why do you have to give up and if you’d like to explore a new way to start entangling What keeps you trapped? Keep listening.
Hi, I’m Jim Fortin, and you’re about to start transforming your life from the inside out with this podcast. I’m widely considered the leader in subconscious transformation and I’ve coached super achievers all around the world for over 25 years. Here you’re going to find no rah rah motivation and no hype because this podcast is a combination of brain science, transformational psychology, and ancient wisdom all rolled into one to take your life to levels you’ve never thought possible. If you’re wanting a lot more in life, to feel better, to heal, to have peace of mind, to feel powerful and alive, and to bring more abundance and prosperity into your life, then this podcast is for you because you’re going to start learning how to master your mind and evolve your consciousness. And when you do that, anything you want then becomes possible for you. I’m glad you’re here.
Okay, so who said it has to be this way? Now, what I’m going to say in this episode, you’ve heard me say some of this before. Some of it might be a bit repetitious. Some of it may not be. I don’t know which episode you’ve listened to in the past. But what I know is repetition is the mother of all learning. And what I also know is that many people listen to the podcast and they’ll hear me say something and they’ll think, well, okay, I’ve heard that before. I already know that. But then they can’t demonstrate it. And if you can’t demonstrate it, then you don’t know it. So in this episode, I want to dig a little bit deeper and I want to explain some things in a way that I think for a lot of you guys, boom, aha, it may click and you may understand or start to understand why you know a lot of the things you need to be doing to change your life and to create a better life, but it’s not getting done. Also, fortunately, I’m back home again after being in a rental for about five and a half weeks. And it’s amazing to be back home again, but I don’t have any furniture in my office yet. I don’t have a rug, no artwork, nothing up yet. So I have a lot of echo in here. And in the event, you can hear that I apologize, but I am getting it worked on. I’ve ordered some sound tiles for the wall and different things. So I’ll get this taken care of pretty quickly. All right.
I was sitting on the porch a while back and I started thinking, why? Meaning even my own life. Who says it has to be this way? Think about that. Who says it has to be this way? And if you look at your own life, what many people do is they’ll look at their life and what they’ll really all start doing is they’ll start fighting against their own life instead of questioning, wait, wait, who said that it has to be this way? Now, if you’re like most people listening, I’m sure you could probably relate to this. And even when we air quote, which by the way is not going to help, but even when we fight our circumstances, many of us are fighting our circumstances with no understanding of the mechanisms of life and specifically no awareness of consciousness.
You may have heard me say before, everything is consciousness. And if you have never explored that and never come to understand it, you can do things all day long. Even, you know, you see other people doing things and they may be getting results and may not. But if they’re doing similar things and they are getting results, but you’re doing the same thing but not getting results, well, then it’s not about the doing. It’s about the consciousness below and behind the doing. Now, just a bit ago, when I mentioned the mechanisms of life, and I also mentioned consciousness, this, especially when I speak about consciousness, is so alien to a lot of people. Now, in fairness, having worked with a shaman now for three decades, I’ve been around this for a long time. But in fairness to you, I have to say, when I started learning about all this and started integrating it into my life, It was as alien to me as it may be to you as you hear me talking about this. But in this episode, I want to talk about changing our environment. Because again, the title is Who Says It Has To Be This Way? Changing Your Environment. But I want to talk about it, not just about the doing, which you’ve heard me talk about before. I want to talk about the being, which is your consciousness. Now, I don’t know how long you’ve listened, and I do want to say that I appreciate it, but I find it interesting. I have a guy today that was on a call that I did earlier, and he was in my group called SoulForge. He said he’s been listening for four years, and he just now took action. So I don’t know how long you’ve been listening, and I’m glad that you’re here, but if you’ve been listening for any amount of time, you’ve heard me talk about the frame, the paradigm of Be, do, have. And be, do, have is you must first be before you can do, before you can have. And what most of us do is we boom automatically. 99% of us go right back into the doing. Let me do. I want more money. Let me do things to create more money. I want a partner, boyfriend, girlfriend. Let me do things to create that boyfriend and girlfriend. I want a bigger business. Let me do things. People can say they need to heal. Well, let me do things to heal. And we’ve learned to be consummate and amazing doers, but we never consider the being or even what it means to be. And being is a reflection of your consciousness.
So I want to give you an example today. that may draw a very clear distinction in your mind between what we do and how we’re being. Because once you understand that, it’ll be easier to metaphorically get your mind around your ways of being and the required consciousness to create what it is that you want to create in life. So speaking of creating, right now, imagine something that you want to create. but you’ve not yet created this item. Maybe it’s a person in your life, a lover, boyfriend, girlfriend, a new home, apartment. car, money, whatever it might be. But imagine something you want to create that you have not yet created it. Okay, now imagine the same thing. You’re imagining that, okay, my end result, my point B is that over there, and I can imagine what it is that I want to create that I have not yet created it. Now, we want to take that and we want to imagine Two train tracks. Two very separate, very different train tracks. However, both train tracks lead to the acquisition of that thing that you want. And you have train track A and train track B. So imagine that as best you can in your mind. Train track A and train track B. They’re parallel. and they’re heading the same direction, and they’re heading to this outcome that you want to create. Okay, but let’s do something a little different here. First, let’s go over to train track B. At train track B, imagine everything that you have to do to acquire the end result that you desire. I’ll say it again. Let’s go over to train track B and imagine everything that you have to do to achieve the end result of the money, the health, the partner, whatever it might be. Now, when I say imagine everything you have to do, most people, they only work from that place, meaning they start thinking about, okay, let me make a list. What people do I know? What resources do I need? And what do I have to do? to get from where I am to where I want to find myself later in life.
Okay, leave that track alone for a second. Now, let’s go over to track A. And track A is a different question. It’s not about doing. Track A is how do you have to be while you are doing? I’ll say it again. Track A is how do you have to be while you are simultaneously doing. Because being and doing are not the same thing. They carry, usually, very different frequencies. And this is what causes the friction. This is what causes us not to create what we want in life. Now, you’ve heard me talk about consciousness. Being is your way of consciousness. Being is not what you do, but being is how you are being. Think about that word. Being is how you are being in your thought and your emotion. So you’ve got doing over on train track B. You’ve got being on train track A. The being is about your thoughts and emotions. Train track B is about what you were doing, but they’re two very different tracks. What most of us do is we collapse the two tracks into one track. But recognize this, they are not one track. And as long as you work track B, meaning as long as you were doing, and you were doing and doing and doing, but you don’t have a corresponding track A, meaning you’re being in your consciousness, you will never, ever, ever create the outcome that you want. So to concretize that a little bit, on track B, we can be working away, meaning we can be in physical activity and physical movement, and we can be making phone calls and shooting videos and knocking on doors and going to events. and doing all kinds of marketing or networking or whatever it is. And we can be doing all these things over on track B. But as we’re doing these things on track B, look at track A. Track A many times is angry, impatient, tired, frustrated, and maybe even resigned. Because if we’re doing these things, but we’re not seeing results, meaning physically, then go over to track A, then we get frustrated, we get angry, we’re tired, we’re resentful, this shit doesn’t work, why am I doing this, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
So look here for a moment what’s happening. You have one track, which is track B, which is doing, but then you have the other track, track A, that’s, I’m just gonna use these words because it’ll make more impact, It’s bitching about the doing. Track A is unhappy because we’re not making progress fast enough. Or somebody said something about what I’m doing. Or somebody judged me or somebody criticized me or somebody made fun of me or whatever it might be. So track A is how you’re being. That is your consciousness. And your consciousness is like… my God, I’m busting my butt, but I’m just not getting anywhere. This is very frustrating. But track B, your body, your body doesn’t say all that. Your body just does. It’s mechanical. It just does. It’s the doing. So notice how you may have your body doing something on track B, but consciousness on track A is literally tearing down everything that track B is doing. simply by holding your attention where, you know, on the place of this sucks, it’s not working, it’s too slow, people are judging me, this is a stupid idea, I’m not sure this is going to work, on and on and on and on. And we simultaneously, even though we’re doing the doing, we have our consciousness tearing down the doing. So I did say our train tracks are parallel. And they are parallel, but you have one track working against the other track, and you’re never going to get to the end result that you want.
Let me share a very simple quote I heard many years ago. It’s an anonymous quote, and it may put all of this in perspective for you. And that quote is, you create your environment by what is going on in your consciousness. I’ll say it again. You create your environment by what is going on in your consciousness. Notice, this very wise individual didn’t say, you create your environment by busting your ass. You create your environment by all of your activity. You create your environment through all of your planning and execution. No, this person didn’t say any of that. They said, you create your environment by what is going on in your consciousness. If you get that one line and you truly, truly, truly get it, meaning you don’t just… understand it, but you know it, that will change everything. Which means, now, many of you might think, okay, well, that means that I need to learn to manage my mind. Actually, no, we’re going to go even deeper than that. But what I want you to notice is it’s not about the activity. And coming to this episode before you listen to it, and you may or may not be familiar, you might have heard me talk about be to have before. You’ve got to be before you can do, before you can have. But it’s not about what’s going on in your activity to create what you want. It’s what is going on in your consciousness. And you need both. This is what in shamanism is called the doing and the not doing. The doing is let me plan. Let me start executing. Let me shoot videos. Whatever it is that you’ve got to do to create the outcome that you want. That’s the doing. But you simultaneously, on the other train track, you have the being also happening. And as I said, the being is often destroying the doing. And it’s destroying it in consciousness. Why? Because consciousness is unseen. And you might have heard me say before, everything is first invisible before it is visible. You may want to write that down if you’re not driving. Everything is first invisible before it is visible.
So what you do becomes visible, but what you’re thinking and what you’re holding in consciousness is the invisible that affects the visible. You know, this goes back, and it’s along the lines of James Allen, who wrote the book, As a Man Thinketh, back, I believe, in the 1870s or so. And James said, Mind is the master power that molds and makes. Think about that for a moment. James Allen did not say your hands, your activity, your action. That’s what gives you what you want. No. He said, mind is the master power that molds and makes. And we have to start learning to live and work from mind. But we’re going to go deeper than what you think mind is here in just a moment. And this is why you can agree, you can not agree, you can say whatever you want. But there are many people out there that are big in the social media space, and I’ve said it before, they hurt people. Now, they intentionally don’t mean to, but these people are so full of ego. And they’re so full of, look at what I’ve achieved and all these kind of things. And I’m thinking of one person in particular who will tell you, you’ve got to hustle and you have to grind and grind and grind. And you’ve got to work until your eyeballs bleed. This dude has a big platform. And this dude is hurting people, not even knowing that he’s hurting people because he’s leading people the wrong direction. And he’s telling people, yeah, go do it. Go bust your ass. Go work till your eyeballs bleed. But notice the consciousness behind that. Now, in fairness to anyone listening, on rare occasion, someone can hear about the doing and they already have the corresponding consciousness to dovetail with the doing. And that’s great. But it’s such a small percentage of the population that have already and naturally aligned their doing with their being. For the most part, most people know they have to do, and that’s what they will go do, but their being is completely misaligned with the doing in terms of their consciousness, and they sabotage themselves.
Now, when I say mind, I’m not going to go into it here, but I do want to reference and I want to cover it just so you understand. I remember a dinner that I was having with my brother-in-law, the shaman, Don Xavier. When I say brother-in-law, my shaman, because I don’t know when you started listening. If you’ve listened for any amount of time, I’m sure it’s kind of annoying that I say that, but we’re adding new people all the time. So please give me a little grace on that. But I remember Don Xavier was over for dinner and he and I were talking about the Kabbalion. And I was talking, I said, you know, I learned the first cosmic law is we live in a mental universe. Everything is mind. And he’s like, yeah, that’s it, but you’re not understanding it correctly. He says, you’re understanding it as if everything is the individual mind, and that is not the truth. You have an individual mind, but when the Kabbalion talks about the universe’s mental, the universe’s mind, I’m going to use my words here now, not his, but what he was saying is the Kabbalion was saying, and the Kabbalion is believed to have been written many, many thousands of years ago by Hermes Trismegistus. But the Kabbalion was saying the universe is mental. Basically, let’s change one word. The universe is consciousness. So we have to work from consciousness, from universal mind, from cosmic mind, first and foremost, not individual mind and not doing. And to give you a little metaphor that may help here, individual mind, you’ve heard me use this example before, individual mind is like a wave in an ocean. But consciousness is the ocean. And we have to work from consciousness, which is our way of being, which is our connection to divine mind, to divine source.
So I’m going to make this really simple, okay? Is you can do all you want and you can do all day long and you can do a lot of doing and a lot of hard work. But if your consciousness is not working in tandem with the activity and all the doing, plain and simple, you will not get the result. You must, must, must, must, must. You must learn to manage the mind and manage your consciousness parallel and aside of and from what the body is doing. I’ll say that again. You must learn to manage the mind and consciousness aside of and from what the body is doing. But we’ve learned to be doers and all we do is do and do and do and do, but the consciousness isn’t aligned and then we wonder why we’re not giving the results that we want.
So what we do is we generally observe the body and the external mind basically just literally hovers around the body like a bee, just buzzing around, buzzing around, buzzing around. But listen to all of that, and it may not make a lot of sense right now, all that noise that the buzzing is making. Because all that noise that the buzzing and the bee is making is all noise. And that literally shuts out divine consciousness and divine mind.
So for right now in this episode, remember this. It’s not about what you do. It’s not about your activity. It’s never been about that, but that’s what we’ve learned. It’s about who and how you’re being.
So back to the title of this episode. Who says it has to be this way? Well, your consciousness has told you it has to be this way because you have inundated your consciousness with all your social learning and all your brainwashing. And you believe, which is non-physical, you believe that it has to be this way, when in truth, it does not.
So your takeaway is, life is not about what you do. It’s about your ways of being. And I had a mentor of mine many years ago, 15 years ago. If you take one thing from this episode, take this. My mentor, his name was Barry. And he said to me one time, and I’ve said it here in the podcast, but maybe you’ll hear it differently now. He said, and yes, this applies to you listening right now. He said, your doing is only as effective as the being doing the doing. I’ll say it again, and then I’m going to say it a third time in a different way. Your doing is only as effective as the being doing the doing. Now, let me say it a third time, but in a different way. Your doing is only as effective as the consciousness doing the doing, which is why we must learn. To even become aware, most people aren’t even conscious of being conscious. We have to learn to manage or allow our consciousness, more truthfully, allow our consciousness to manage us. But that’s too big of a topic to get into today.
Thanks for listening, and I’ll catch you over on another episode. Bye-bye.
