You’re listening to the Transform Your Life From the Inside Out podcast. This episode is titled, The World is Your Mirror, Stop Fighting Your Reflection. So as you know, the title of the episode is Transform Your Life From the Inside Out. And I think for a lot of people, they listen, they absorb content. But I think for a lot of people, that premise that everything comes from the inside to the outside gets lost. 
 
So what I want to do is I want to continue the conversation about identity because I talk about identity a great deal. Everything comes down to your identity, but I want to start going deeper. And what I want to start addressing and bringing to your awareness is focusing on your spiritual identity because everything will come from there. Keep listening. And we’ve talked about it a lot before, but a question for you. 
 
or a couple of questions. What if the problems in your life, what if it really isn’t about your circumstances? Now, most people make most of their problems about their circumstances, but your problems don’t come from your circumstances. They come from your attachment and your loyalty to your circumstances. You know, we’ve been trained to believe all of us have been trained to believe that

We just automatically buy into what we see and what we experience. So we look at, and we believe when we look at our bank account, whatever the balance might be, we think that is the truth. Maybe we get a medical diagnosis. Many people think, okay, that is the truth. Maybe we get rejected or a business doesn’t go well or whatever it is. And we think all of that is the truth. But what about this? 
 
What about all that stuff not being the truth, but what if it’s actually a mirror? What if it’s actually a reflection of life back to you and it’s a reflection of what you are projecting? By the way, ancillary note, my voice is a little off today. I’m very stopped up. The weather’s changed dramatically. It went from a 70 degree one day to down to like 25 this morning. 
 
So I’ve been nasally and a bit stuffy and I apologize for that. So the reflection you’ve heard me talk before about James Allen and his book is a man thinketh and I’ve not read that book in probably 25 years, but there’s a passage in the book and that passage is mind is a master power that molds and makes and man is mine and nevermore he takes. He thinks in secret and it comes to pass that his environment is just his looking. 
 
glass. Well, your environment is your looking glass as well. But what we do is we don’t recognize it as a looking glass. We see the environment and we fight the environment when the environment is simply a reflection of us on the inside. So a core awareness, really, please play with this. Get this. A core awareness is that the world is simply 
 
A mirror, your environment is simply a mirror. And what many of us think in the way many of us respond is we think the outer world, our environment is the cause. It’s not the cause. It’s the reflection of what we are projecting. So many of us try to fight the external environment. And let me share with you what that’s really like. Let’s say you walk up to a mirror and you don’t like the reflection in the mirror.

Do you punch the mirror? Do you hit the mirror? Do you break the mirror? No, you change whatever, you know, whatever clothes you’re wearing or makeup you’re wearing or jewelry you’re wearing or whatever, you change the reflection in the mirror. And when you change the reflection of the mirror, guess what? What’s reflected back to you is different. But many of us, we don’t like the mirror of our external world and we punch it and we curse it and we hate it and we fight it. 
 
And that’s not the way to change the mirror. So I have a fundamental question for you. You’re here and the fact that you’re here means that you want to create more than light. No question about it. I mean, each episode that I do is anywhere from probably 30 to 40 minutes long. I’m sure there are other places you could spend your time and energy and that 30 to 40 minutes, but you’re here for a reason. And by the way, I appreciate it. You’re here because you’re wanting to create more in life. 
 
I’ve said it many, many times. And maybe when I say it this time, you might hear it differently based upon how I’m showing up differently with what I’m presenting in this episode. You’re trying to change the reflection that’s coming back to you. That will not change because that reflection is created from your identity. Who and what you are is what you project and what you project out to the mirror is what gets bounced back to you. I’ll say it again. 
 
You keep trying to change the mirror while keeping the same identity. Or I’ll say it the first time and say it a different way is you keep trying to change the mirror of your life while keeping the same identity. That will not work. Where I want to deviate a little here in this episode, and I’ve never really deviated this way is talking about the physical senses. We’ve been conditioned and we have learned 
 
to let our five senses define our reality for us. Meaning what I can taste, what I can hear, what I can see, the physical senses, the auditory, the visual, the kinesthetic, the goutatory and the olfactory. And then we let that define our reality. But here’s a fundamental truth. Please understand this. Your senses, they don’t create reality. 
 
Jim Fortin (07:20.018) 
Your senses do not create reality. Initially, they report reality. So what we see in all these kinds of things we think is reality, but it’s basically the report of the reflection that we’re looking at and what you’re reacting to today, what you’re reacting to today, whether it be a low bank account, 
 
or a health element or a divorce or whatever it might be. What you are reacting to today is yesterday’s consciousness. Ponder that. Most of us, what we do is we literally get all bent out of shape and we emotionally react to what’s happening today. But what’s happening today came from our state of consciousness yesterday. So then what happens? 
 
is every one of our reactions, meaning every bit of us fighting the mirror just simply reaffirms the identity in the mirror. Every reaction that you have reaffirms the identity that created that reaction in the first place. You know, to make this practical, and I did this for many years, it’s almost embarrassing how many years that I did, but I didn’t know any differently is back when I was broke, my consciousness 
 
created that brokenness, meaning my identity. So then what I did is I fought the environment of that creation. I fought being poor. It was like I was covered up in a wet blanket and I just was kicking and I couldn’t get out of the blanket. I was trying to escape that environment, which by the way again was created by my identity. I was trying to escape that environment. 
 
with the very same identity that created the environment. So as you already know, if you’ve listened for any amount of time, we create our world from our identity. And you probably already know that if you listen for any amount of time, but I want to start going beyond the 3d identity. And I want to start talking about the spiritual identity. So what is your spiritual identity? 
 
Jim Fortin (09:43.091) 
Now for the majority of the planet, their spiritual identity is dogma, whether it be Catholicism, Mormonism, Baptist, Jewish, whatever. And that becomes their ritualistic spiritual identity. But the problem with that is when you subscribe to the religious identity, you are also bound by all the tenants and covenants and rules of that identity. 
 
You know, I’m not anymore. I’m a spiritualist and I’m not any more religious. I grew up in a religious household. I grew up in a Baptist household and talk about rules and rigidity and fire and brimstone and going to hell. And I still know people that I went to high school with. I don’t talk to them anymore, but I see them on Facebook and they’re still preaching the same nonsensical Christian dogma. 
 
about hell and fire and brimstone and all these kinds of things that they were talking about in high school 40 fricking years ago, 45 years ago, they’re still living in the dogma, but truly that’s religious identity. What is your spiritual identity? Now think back to the episodes I did. I don’t know the episode number, but I did an episode titled something along the lines of you were the ultimate power in the universe. 
 
Think about that. What if you truly and really identified with being the ultimate power in the universe? Would you then struggle with money or health or relationships? If you literally identified as the ultimate power in the universe and that is the truth. But most of us do not identify with the truth. We identify with what our physical senses tell us. Our eyes, for example, we can look at our little chit. 
 
from the bank, the little slip saying you don’t have any money. So then what we do is we identify with that, but that is not the truth. That is the current experience, but it’s not the truth of you. It’s simply the circumstance that you’re in that has been created from your consciousness. So what’s really important is we have to start thinking from truth. The more we think from truth, the more we start reinforcing that identity. 
 
Jim Fortin (12:06.954) 
So we have to start thinking from truth, not from appearances. Now that episode that I did, you were the ultimate power in the universe. You could have heard that and you could have gone right on. I really like, or maybe you hated it. I don’t know. You could have gone, really liked it. Whatever your thoughts were about that episode, I was telling you the truth. You are the ultimate power in the universe. The, what do you identify as? Most of us identify as the physical senses. 
 
Meaning what you have in your physical life, your physical reality, my 3d reality. And we identify with that because we identify with that. We literally live that in consciousness and we perpetuate that. So when I say perpetuate, what we do is we reinforce the lack by reacting to the lack. Think about that. And I was a master at that. We reinforce the lack in our life, whether it be lack of health. 
 
lack of relationships, lack of money, we reinforce the lack by reacting to the lack. And this is why I’ve often said, you ever noticed that people that need the money the most have the least and people that need the money the least have the most. Why? Because they are projecting their consciousness from their identity and people that don’t have any money reinforce 
 
I don’t have any money. I don’t have any money. I don’t have any money. And that’s what we project through our consciousness and everything is energy and consciousness. So we’re projecting that power out into the universe. The universe reflects that back or corresponds that back to us. Therefore we get reinforcement of when people say they’re broke, they stay broke. Question. I’ve talked about your soul a couple of times in this episode. 
 
Do you think your soul is broke? Do you think your soul is in bad health? Do you think your soul is lonely? So the obvious answer is no, your soul is not broke. Your soul is not lonely. Your soul is not poor, but where’s the human identity thinking from? Because your soul is not operating from that place. I want to talk about a big topic that 
 
Jim Fortin (14:32.325) 
kneecaps or handicaps, many, most of us. And I think about me during my twenties, how pervasively I lived in fear. Mainly my fear was the fear of lack. But if you ever noticed how your fear sustains the very thing that you’re afraid of, think about that. Your fear sustains the very thing that you’re afraid of. And the fear comes from the identity. 
 
So my identity back then was I am I’m broke. I’m a poor person, monetarily because that was my identity. That was my projection. Then the was my experience. So then what happened is I would create the experience I was projecting. And then I would say, see, I told you I am broke. I have no money. And let me give you an example. I noticed this yesterday in the soul forge group. There was a guy in there. 
 
that posted and he said, he goes, my sister enrolled in TCP and back in not only 20, 2019, 2020, the transformational coaching program, by the way, I don’t know that I will ever do one of those programs again. So if you, you never enrolled and wanted to, um, most likely there’s not going to be an opportunity at this point. But the person said, I looked at how many changes 
 
how many amazing changes my sibling made by going through a TCP with John and going through a couple of rounds. And the person said something like, but I never did it because I didn’t have the money. And this is what literally I’ve been trying to get across to people. If you don’t have the money, it’s the identity that created you not having money. And when you continue to live from that identity, you will never fricking have the money. So 
 
I’m just trying to accentuate here. When you live from fear, that just reinforces the identity of fear, fear of loneliness, fear of poor health, fear of a lack of money, whatever it might be. When you live from that identity, you reinforce the identity. And what I want to share here is that you’re never at the mercy of your circumstances ever. You’re never at the mercy of your circumstances. However, you are. 
 
Jim Fortin (16:58.139) 
at the mercy of your identity. I’ll say it again. You’re never at the mercy of your circumstances. You are at the mercy of your identity. And this is not raw, raw, feel good, positive thinking. This is identity work. And for the greatest amount of time now, last seven years, we’ve been doing identity work at the 3D level. But as I just said earlier, I want to start with you guys doing identity work at a soulful level. 
 
so that you really come to know the true essence of you, which is soul. And you start identifying with that essence of you. So about the identity work, you don’t get in life what you want. I know you’ve heard me say it before. You don’t get in life what you want. You get in life what you are and what you are is what you identify with. 
 
So I talked about the spiritual aspect of identity. We’ve talked a little bit about 3D identity, but the problem with the 3D identity in itself is that when we identify as a human being, and I said this probably three or four episodes ago, when we identify as a human being, we then inherit all the limitations of that identity. But how about this? As I asked you earlier, do you think your soul, 
 
is limited. Do you think your mind is limited? So therefore if you identify it as soul or divine mind, you would start identifying as a being that is unlimited. And that’s when a tremendous amount of power comes to us because that’s when we start working from possibility and not from resignation. And to make this very tangible and break it down in the way that, you know, is going to be very easy to understand. 
 
is you cannot desire wealth while feeling broke. It does not happen because if you feel broke, you’re identifying as broke, but yet you’re saying, I do not want that. I want to be wealthy. Well, you first have to identify with the feeling of being wealthy. Same thing with health. And this was one I learned very personally in 2020 when I had a heart failure and a stroke in the same year. 
 
Jim Fortin (19:22.487) 
You cannot want health while identifying as sick. Think about that. You cannot create health. Well, you can want health, but you cannot create health while identifying as sick. And I probably said this 20 times in my podcast in different places. This is why Anita Morgani, who wrote the book, Dying to be Me, said the surest way to heal is to need no healing. Think about that. 
 
If you need no healing, you then identify, identify again, identify as someone who needs no healing. So if you don’t identify as someone who needs healing, then you’re not identifying as sick. So we have to identify in our mind, which is consciousness. Ideally where I want to lead you, we’re not getting there. We’re not there yet. I want to take you there. We have to identify as devise, as I mentioned earlier as divine mind. 
 
as divine essence, as the quantum mind, or a very simple three letter word that polarizes a lot of people because they have so much dogma attached to it. God, what would it mean to identify as God? Think about that. And that scares the hell out of a lot of people. Maybe because they think it’s a lot of power, maybe because they think that’s blasphemous, but that is the truth. And I’ve talked about it before. 
 
So, know, and using the same mirror metaphor, you can’t change the mirror while looking into the mirror with the same face. You’ve got to change the makeup or the hair or the clues or, whatever it is. If you want a different reflection, that makes sense, right? You’ve got to change what you looking into the mirror. You’ve got to change you to get a different reflection of the mirror. You put on a red shirt. 
 
Many of us have done this. You put on a shirt, you look in the mirror and you’re like, I don’t like that. That doesn’t work. So you change the shirt. You don’t beat the shit out of the mirror. You change the shirt. What many of you are doing is you look at the mirror of your life. You don’t like it. And you beat the shit out of the mirror instead of recognizing, wait, I have to change my shirt. I’ve got to change what I’m projecting. I must change my identity. 
 
Jim Fortin (21:45.788) 
both 3d and soulfully. Okay. So you’ve listened to this point and let me concretize this and make it very practical for you. You might’ve heard the phrase working from and working to. Now I’ve talked about before, and this is 3d and the way I’m going to say it. Many of us work from point A to point B. The problem is 
 
At point A, that is our identity. And so we’re wanting to go from the identity at point A to a different circumstance at point B. But the reality is, whatever our identity is, that is our circumstance. So if we’re wanting to work from point A to point B, we have to work from the identity at point B. OK? So how do we do that? 
 
Ask yourself this question. Make a note of this. If you’re driving, write it down later. Do not do it while you’re driving. But if you’re somewhere where you can write this down, write it down. Let’s say that you are not physically well and you want to be well. Let’s say that you do not have the money that you desire in this moment. Maybe you’re lonely, whatever it might be, any life circumstance. Ask yourself this question. And you’ve heard me use this word before. 
 
the word already, but here’s the question. If this were already resolved, how would I feel right now? The question again is this, if this was already resolved, how would I feel right now? Because notice you’ve got a problem. And then if you think about the problem being resolved, you feel differently about the problem being resolved than you do thinking about. 
 
the problem you’re trying to solve. But the key here is this moves your consciousness from the energy of the problem to the resolution of the problem. Now the mistake, the warning, you don’t want to Tony Robbins hype it up. You don’t want to rah rah. You don’t want to make it all whistles and bells and ecstatic and the angels blowing the trumpets and all these kinds of things. It’s simply a very calm, very natural 
 
Jim Fortin (24:13.372) 
Very certain, make a note of that word. Very certain state, meaning that in your mind, it’s already true in your mind. So what’s already true, whatever it is that you were desiring to resolve, but now in your mind with certainty, even though you’ve not experienced it in the physical senses yet in your mind with certainty, it is all ready. Underline that word already resolved. 
 
Because when it’s already resolved, that is where you’re holding your attention. That is where you’re holding your consciousness. Where you hold your attention and your consciousness is what you manifest. Now, when we do that, you don’t hear me talking about this a lot, but I’m going to start talking about it more because we are, or we do have a body and we are mine. 
 
But when you start holding your attention and your consciousness and the place that you desire to be, meaning the, the point B, when we start holding our, our, our attention there, our nervous system starts to reorganize and it starts to reorganize around the new identity. And then when your identity shifts, your perceptions shift. And then when your perceptions shift, your behavior shifts. And when your behavior shifts, 
 
then your reality shifts. Now, as I said earlier, what you want to do, make a note of this, listen very carefully. You want to think from the end, not to the end. I’ll say it again. You want to think from the end, not to the end. Thinking to the end equals wanting. 
 
Thinking from the end equals acquisition and they’re both states of consciousness. And whatever your state of consciousness is, is what you’re going to automatically manifest and experience in your life. So make a note of this and you can even write this down. Here’s your sentence. If this were already done, how would I respond? Meaning if the brand new house were already done, how would I respond? 
 
Jim Fortin (26:40.072) 
If the money in the bank was already done, how would I respond? You found a new girlfriend or a boyfriend or whatever it might be or divorce. How would I respond? Well, that’s where you want to work from. And that’s where you want to keep your attention. Now all the time I’ve been doing this podcast, you could say, well, Jim, you’ve talked about this before. Yes, I have. But in a more 3d kind of way, not in a way like, 
 
This is the way you’re being. This is where your consciousness is. Now this happened to me before and it’ll probably happen to you. So we say, okay, this sounds good. And I’m feeling really good right now about what you’re saying, Jim. And yeah, I can do this. But then later today I see my bank statement or someone says this or someone does that. And then we say, well, these are my circumstances. 
 
These contradict what you’re saying, Jim, because these are my circumstances right now. Well, in your mind, make a note and that note is those circumstances were created through your old consciousness, not your present consciousness, unless you choose to recreate from your present consciousness. Your old creations are old news. The shit you have in your life that you don’t want, you didn’t create from today. You created from some point in your past. 
 
And then you don’t like what you created today. And then you fight it. And then you stay in the old consciousness. So do not fight the circumstances return to the emotional state of the question that I ask you. If it were already done, how would I respond or how would I be different? Okay. So something I said earlier, please make a note of this and play this over in your mind over and over and over. 
 
You are never at the mercy of your circumstances. You are at the mercy of your identity, which is why you’ve heard me say before that you could never outperform your identity. Now, of course we can identify identity or think about identity as 3d identity. But where I want to start taking you on our journey is to start identifying as I talked about earlier as divine mind, as universal mind or

that big old word, God, identifying as God. So your transformational takeaway is this. Another question for you may want to make a note of this. Who am I willing to be before the evidence shows up? Think about that. Who am I willing to be before the evidence shows up? Now your mind probably goes right to a place. I have to be courageous. I got to be this. I got to be disciplined. I got to be committed. 
 
Let’s go deeper though. Who and how am I willing to be before the evidence shows up? What I would suggest you start playing with is I would be one with God. I would be one with the universe. I would be one with the mind mind. And the first thing that’s going to happen there is your analytical 3d, very limited human mind. 
 
is going to say nonsense, bullshit. It sounds good on paper, but the reality is the more you hold your consciousness in that place, the more real it starts to become for you. So your transformational takeaway is stop fighting the reflection. Your current environment, your current life is a reflection of the old you. You change you, you change the reflection. 
 
So let’s start air quote changing you into a person who works from and as divine mind as the ultimate power in the universe. And let’s start conditioning ourselves because we have a brain and it has to be conditioned. Let’s start conditioning ourselves to work from that place. Okay. Hopefully you enjoyed this episode.
