You're listening to the Transform your Life from the Inside Out podcast. And this episode is titled, how much authority do you have in your life? Now, when you hear that question, most of us start attributing our authority to our social relevance, and our place in life and our jobs and everything else. And that's not what I'm talking about. What I'm talking about is how much true authority do you have in life, and then how much of your authority have you given up to society, your friends, your family, and all the things that have influenced the person you have become? So I think many of you will find this this episode very interesting, and a way to start reclaiming your power, and your authority. So keep listening.

Your Power Lies In The Authority You Have In Your Own Life
Okay, if you're new to the podcast, go back to the very first episode, I know that what we tend to do is when we start listening to a podcast or something, we tend to really kind of just jump in and go from where we jump in. And the reality is, is that all of these episodes can help you Transform your Life. Every episode brings you value in some way to help you put your life into perspective. So go back to the very beginning, even though you know you're starting here, go back to the very beginning, and start there. Now, of course, you can listen, you know, weekly to each new episode, but also go back to the beginning. Now the question is that I have for you is how much authority do you have in your life? And when you hear that question, you probably, you know, you're thinking, Well, I'm a boss, and, you know, or I'm an employer, or I'm the, you know, cheapest, you know, surgery or this or that or I'm the head conductor in an orchestra or I'm the fire chief or whatever it might be.
And, you know, moms and dads are like, Well, I have authority in this house. And the reality is that we're putting authority into the context of socialization. And then we we determine how much authority we have, based upon how much authority we have learned to have, based upon what we've learned about ourself, what we've learned about the world, and what we've learned about our current place in the world. What I want to share with you is that most of us have given up all of our authority to the world that we're born in question for you. How much authority do you have, as a being? Now ponder that consider that, how much authority do you have as a, let's go here first, as a human being, I didn't say human being that's playing your particular role, like, you know, Chief of Police or Chief of Staff of Surgery or whatever, how much authority Do you have as a human being? So ponder that for a moment.
And,you know, as I was just saying, when we think about authority, the first place we go to, is we go to jobs and titles and socialization, and especially social status. You know, I work with people from all around the world and many different cultures, and I work with a lot of Indians. And it's a caste you know, system there. And a lot of people by virtue of where they are born. It's pretty crazy, by virtue of where they are born, or the family that they are born into, that determines the amount of authority that they have as a human being. And they're letting a social construct a human construct, determine the power that they have as a being and I'll take that a little you know, apart a little more as we go here. But you know, when it comes To personal and, you know, personal development and transformation, a lot of people consider me an authority in the field.
But what I look at is, what authority do I have, you know, have as a being? And what authority do I have in and over my own life? Consider that, what authority do you have in and over your own life, because that is where the power is, and doing what I've done for a lot of years, what I know is us is that most of us, we give up our authority to our parents, for a lifetime. And I see this all the time, I see people that are in their 40's and 50's, literally, and they're like, well, I can't do XYZ. And the reason that I can do it is because my parents are not going to like that, if I do it, and I watch people living into their 30's, and 40's, and 50's. And they were afraid of their parents, and they've given up all of their authority, for even autonomy to their parents.
And my transformational program right down. As I said, I, you know, I work with a fair amount of people from India. And there was this guy a couple of months ago. And I see a lot of this from that culture is that people are born, we're all born and we want to do things, there are things that come natural to us things that appeal to us. And for example, this guy, he was in medical school, and he said, My, I'm just laughing at something else that popped in my mind. But he said, my parents, I have to be a doctor, because my parents said, so that's what they expect to me. And because I don't want to be a doctor, and what eventually Well, not eventually, I think at about a month or shrub working with me, he quit medical school. Now I have no responsibility for his life or for your life or for anyone's life. But yet, that's us authority is doing what you want to do with your own life. I'm just when I started laughing, and men, and they go, I remember many years ago, and I have friends from all different kinds of backgrounds, and religions and ethnicities and persuasions and socio economic classes, and etc. And a friend of mine, when I first met him, we started talking, we met in the gym when we were chatting one day.
And I said, What do you know, what do you do for a living? You know, the common question that we all ask, you know, what do you do? And he goes, I'm a lawyer and a doctor. And I'm like, Whoa, you're a lawyer and the doctor? And he said, Yes, he goes, I'm Jewish. I'm an only child, what do you expect? And he was kidding. I mean, he was completely kidding. But you know, in that culture, I mean, it carries social weight, to be a doctor or lawyer. So he was an only child. And, you know, he didn't want to disappoint his parents, and he became both the lawyer and the doctor, what I want you to take from this podcast and start understanding is that this is really hard for us to get our minds around. But you're in the cosmos. Now, no, we can't think outside of our county and city and state and nation and off the planet. But the reality is, you're I read something on this, this calm yesterday on somebody's Instagram profile. And he said, it said, you know, you put your little, you know, biography and your profile on Instagram. And it said, I'm just a guy floating through the cosmos, on a big rock. Think about that, because that's us. We're floating through the cosmos on a big rock.
And that being said, you're in the cosmos, you're part of the cosmos. And here's the thing, you have the authority of an as a cosmic being, let that sink in, you know, let that sink in for a moment, is you have the authority of a cosmic being. And then we look at Well, you know, what does that mean? I mean, that's mind boggling to even try to get my mind around what I've got the authority of the cosmos. Let me break it down. Or let me start here first with humanity. That basically means that everything that is accorded to humanity, meaning anything that anyone else in the planet, anything they can do, or they can have, or they can be, you have that same thing. You have that same power in you. Why? Because they're a reflection. of the cosmos, you are a reflection of the cosmos, and you have the power, you have the power and authority of anything that humanity has.
As I started this episode, and I was saying that most of us give our power and our authority away, and we do it, you know, to our mother, and our father, and our family, and our school, and our church and other people, which basically is society. And then we let society let us determine who we're to be, and even what we can be. And we do this because we're born, I believe, I think, like John Locke, the British philosopher said, many years ago, we're born Tabula Rasa, we're born a blank slate. And then what happens is, you know, the world, you know, the world gets a hold of us, and mom and dad, and then you start like the second you pop out of the womb, you're like a video recorder and an audio recorder, and you start videoing and audioing the world through observation. And then you actually learn what the world is, or is not based upon the observation, you know, observations that you're making. And these observations are generally, well, not generally, your observations are always a reflection of how your parents operate in the world.
I remember when I was eight years old, I had to go to the doctor for something. And my mother used to always say, and a lot of our mothers used to always say this. And I went to the doctor more than when I was eight, but our parents used to say things like, you better listen to the doctor. And we're told that we have to listen to a doctor because they are authority figures. Now, in light of everything I've been through in the past year, if you've been listening for any amount of time, you know that I had heart failure last year, and I had a stroke, and the doctors serve their purpose with me. Honestly, I can't say that they helped me heal at all. They simply facilitated healing, partly through, you know, modern medicine. And, you know, that was kind of it. And actually, the doctors, some of them could have hurt me. Because if I believed them as an authority figure, if I believed them, one of the doctors will when I had heart failure gave me a really bad prognosis.
Now, what if I saw that doctor as an absolute authority, and I bought every bit of that, because that doctor told me that I would suffer a lifetime with heart failure. And then when I had a stroke later in the year, I went to the hospital. And the neurologist said, What do you mean, you had heart failure, your heart is stronger than most people's, your hearts functioning, it's 73%? Well, I think they call it ejection fraction, meaning the pressure that of the heart beat pumping blood. When the doctors, the cardiologist, one of them told me that I was going to suffer, that was their words, I could suffer from heart failure for the rest of my life. I literally said, No, that's, that's not going to happen. No, that is not me. And I didn't buy it. I didn't buy it. So we have to look at what we buy, and what we buy into, based upon what the world gives us. And what what you know, the people that we perceive to be authority figures, what they give us.
Because what if they're wrong, but you see those authority figures are also living by what has been given to them. Now, I do want to point out here, if you need medical attention, you need to get it. I'm telling you right now, some kind of trauma, you're in a car accident and broken bone, you know, chest pains, go to the doctor, I mean, use your common sense about this and go to the doctor and use that guidance carefully. Let me put it this way,is that, I know that because I am a cosmic being that I have the power of the cosmos. And that means to me that I have the power to heal. And you know what you do as well. So I want you to know that you have the power to heal as well. But, you know, let's look at this. This is kind of like ouchie you know out that hurts when you get it. But when you give up your authority, think about this. When you give up your authority, you will literally give up your life.
Now the question I have for you is and by the way, if you think this doesn't apply to you, that's self deception. And I mean, every single person who listens to this podcast in this episode, if you think you haven't given up your authority, you're too society and your parents and social structure, then you're fooling yourself, you have, but what I want you to look at is, who have you given your life to think about that, who have you given your life to, and then what many people do on top of that, they give their lives away. And then what they do is I see it all the time, and this probably applies to a good percentage of you is that you give your life away to your parent, because your parent, you start videotaping an audio taping them, you know, metaphorically, when you're born, so you give them all your authority and all your power. And then what a lot of people do is spend their life fighting to get that back. You know, I've said it earlier, and I'll say it before, it's, it's shocking to me, literally shocking the amount of people that literally live their lives, and their 30's and their 40's in their 50's.
And they're doing it to please their parents. I've even heard people say before that when their parents pass when they're older, I've literally heard people say, and maybe this, you know, even applies to you. People have said, You know what, no, they passed. I've heard people say these exact words before, I'm free now. I mean, in their 50's, they're saying they're free, and they were free their entire lifetime. But you know, what? They, they gave their power away. They gave their authority as a cosmic being away and all that power to their parents. But you see, your your parents have imprinted you since birth, which I've talked about twice the audio and video recorder metaphor. So the question that I want you to ask yourself, What did your parents take from you, in terms of your ability, and terms of your hopes, and your wishes and your wants and your dreams and your desires?
You know, for example, painters, artists, dancers, singers, many times I've seen in especially like in a culture like India, is I've seen people say I want to be and I have somebody in my program right now. And she just starting to allow herself to paint. And her work is really, really good seriously, I mean, it's really good. And actually, when she posted a picture of some of her work in my group, the group's like, wow, I want that. But you know what, and so she has like a waiting list, someone, one of my students told me, they have a waiting list for two years now. Because they got out there, and they started exercising what I call their authority, which is what I'm talking about now. But they didn't know they could attract those kind of people. Because one, they were bottled up. And they weren't exercising their authority, because they weren't living from their soul, which is the cosmic part of who they're being. But I've seen so many people give up their authority to the social structure, or a socio economic class that they're born into. Why? Because that's what they've learned they have to do. And then they've given up their lives, and then they're not living happy lives.
So back to the question, What did your parents take from you? In terms of your authority? The question, and this is a hard one, because I've tried to do it myself. Actually, I don't want to influence you know, you having a difficult time I telling you, it's a hard one. But I want to speak for myself, I have found it to be challenging. When I asked the question is, Can you even imagine what your life would be? If you had your full authority? Think about that. What would your life be if you had your full authority as a cosmic human being? And then as you're answering that, think for a second about what limitations did you learn?I mean, what can you be what can you not be what can you have even money and so many people struggle with money? I remember my father often saying is, we're not those kinds of people. Well, today, guess what I I am that kind of person because I'm financially very wealthy and very comfortable.
But you know, what? My parents limitations and what they impressed upon me and imprinted upon me, held me down for decades. So where would you be? And what would you have, if you were living and your full authority as a cosmic being? I'll give you a question in just a minute. We can wrap up wrap up this episode, I'll give you a question that might help you explore this a little bit more. That being said, so often people, and especially my podcasts, and I assume it's because it's it's the way that I've laid it out. somebody you know, most people want the 123's give me Step number one, step number two, step number three. Well, this isn't that. And when it comes to the heavy lifting, you've got to do your own heavy lifting with this.
But let's break. Let's not talk cosmic for a minute. Let's talk. Let's talk human being. And what I want to look at is that you know what really, truly, you're superhuman. You are a super human being, and you learn not to be and think about all the things let's not even talk cosmic, as I said, What do you think you'd be doing? And what do you think you would have in your life? If you truly worked from the position of I am a super human? Could you make money? Yes? Could you heal? Yes. Could you find love? Yes. Could you build a business? Yes. Could you do whatever you want in life, meaning with your life, not meeting whatever you want, like, you know, driving through a crowd of people in a car, but you know what I mean? Could you do whatever you wanted, if you operate it as if you were super human. And that's the what I call the great leap. The great leap, is, let me preface it first, is that you've heard and I attract a large amount of what I call spiritual people, people in what I call a spiritual path, I know that I really don't appeal as much to people that are more conventional. And they're thinking more linear, and they're thinking, more rooted in social structure or things that have been passed down, you know, to to humanity, in terms of belief systems, and everything.
Many of you have heard before, the phrase it's very common is that we are not human beings, having spiritual experiences. We are a spiritual being having human experiences. But let's take that one step further here, is I say that you know what, you're not a human being first, you're not a spiritual being first, because there's dogma tied to that. And all of these ideas about what spirituality means and what it does. And because you could be a Buddhist and be spiritual, you can be worked with a shaman and be spiritual. You can even be a religious person who is also spiritual. So it has so many meanings. But how about this, is, you're not first a human being, you're not first a spiritual being, you were first, a cosmic being having a human experience. Now, that being said, here's where the heavy lifting comes in for you is, what abilities? What abilities would you have? Or what abilities would you want, or think you would have, if you operated as a cosmic being, and you knew, you knew that you had the power of the cosmos? Behind you. So consider that. Now wants you to think about that a little more thing? Let's go here for a minute. Let's do this. Think about what would you have in your life? If you had this mega, tomical, massive magic wand? And you could just wave it and create things in your life, the health, the wellness or relationships? How would your life be different? ponder that.
Now that being said, that's the ability of a cosmic being, which you are. So what obstacles? Think right now about the obstacles in your life? What obstacles would automatically disappear for you? If you were first thought of yourself as well, you don't have to think about both. But it's easier for people, what things would disappear, what problems what challenges would disappear from your life, if you really owned, owned, that you are a super human? So start there, and then the next leap after that you're not just superhuman? You're a cosmic being that happened that you know, happens to be having a super human experience, but most of us live it. And little bitty, bitty bitty realities, because we've given our power and we've given our authority away. I'm not done yet listening to the audio book. But it's Anita Moorjani . And it's the book called Dying to be Me. And the book she talks about how She had lymphoma. And I mean, when you read the book is are you listen to the audio book, it's like, Whoa, I mean, this was like this was this was I couldn't even fathom. I mean, I had heart failure, and a stroke. And I'm lucky I had those, if I had to pick between that and what she had, I'd pick the heart failure in the stroke. And it was so tragic. What Well, that's my death. And I'm sorry, I'm putting words on it and meaning on it and thoughts around it, but put it this way, I would not want to experience the experience that she had.
And the doctors told her she wasn't going to make it you're not going to make it through the night is what she was told one time. And today she's she's out speaking about, well read the book, and you'll find out or listen to the audio book. But you know what, it wasn't the the bag of skin that she has, Anita Moorjani , however you want to use that word, I mean more skin, we're bones, we're tissue, we're carbon, all this kind of stuff. It wasn't that, that hildur. It was the cosmic being in herself, and that she was tapping into the authority that she had even not knowing it, she was tapping into the authority that she had, and is as a cosmic being. So here's what I want you to take this week, you've heard it a billion times, and a billion ways, and especially on social media. But what I want to share with you whether or not you can get your mind around it or not anything you want, anything, health, wellness, relationships, a billion dollars, anything. Anything you want, is available to you, when you exercise your authority that you're born with, as a cosmic being.
So your transformational takeaway is this, anything is possible when you hold affirmative attention on what it is, because see, you are you know, this is like, Well, you know, but Jim, you know, you kind of like Woowoo, but you're the universe, you are the universe and you have that authority. And you know what, it's airtight. Because even if you believe in nothing, after we leave the body still as a matter, you're still going to, according to Einstein, in physics, you're still going to turn back into pure energy again, because by the law, the Conservation of Matter in the law, the conservation of energy, is you cannot destroy either. And you being on the planet, you are energy and you cannot be destroyed, according to Einstein. Now, could he be wrong? Yes, but I doubt it when it comes to this particular principle. That being said, you have the eternal authority of being a cosmic being. Okay, thanks for listening to this episode.
