You’re listening to the transform your life from the inside out podcast. This episode is titled your belief and the problem is the problem. You know, I think back many years ago and this situation is what inspired this episode. I was wrestling with a life problem and I talked to Don Juan Matus, a shaman. And he said to me, he goes, you can’t solve the problem.
because you put too much self importance on yourself. And he went on to explain that I had the problem and the problem wasn’t the problem of my soul or divinity. The problem was an ego problem from my human based ego, which is why he said you put too much importance on yourself. What he meant was you put too much importance on your ego. And what he meant was is when you see through the ego,
to the divinity in you, the soulfulness in you, the problems go away. Therefore, the only problem you have is that you believe you have a problem. So if you’d like to actually start resolving the problems in your life, keep listening. Hi, I’m Jim Fortin, and you’re about to start transforming your life from the inside out with this podcast. I’m widely considered the leader in subconscious transformation, and I’ve coached super achievers all around the world.
for over 25 years. Here you’re going to find no rah rah motivation and no hype because this podcast is a combination of brain science, transformational psychology and ancient wisdom all rolled into one to take your life to levels you’ve never thought possible. If you’re wanting a lot more in life to feel better, to heal, to have peace of mind, to feel powerful and alive and to bring more abundance and prosperity into your life, then this podcast is for you.
because you’re going to start learning how to master your mind and evolve your consciousness. And when you do that, anything you want then becomes possible for you. I’m glad you’re here. Okay. So before we get into this episode, I want to address something here because I had, I had mentioned in the reason the last part of last year, I did the episodes with tips from a shaman is I wanted to go and I am going in a new direction with the podcast in 2026. Now through my own behavior,
Jim Fortin (02:27.866)
think some things didn’t get in the place. didn’t get done on time, et cetera. That all comes back to me and my level of responsibility and things that I was doing in life. We don’t have any new music coming, but we have a new intro coming, a new tile for Apple. And we have guests, as I mentioned last year, we’ll have some guests coming. I’ve invited quite a few guests. I’ve heard back from quite a few, and I’m going to start working them into the episodes as well. All right, so this episode, the headline.
Your belief in the problem is the problem. Ponder that the belief in the problem is the problem because you’ve seen people before two exact circumstances and one person thinks it’s a problem and it becomes a big boulder in their way. And someone else doesn’t really think it’s a problem at all. And you may notice that many times it disappears, it goes away, doesn’t bother them.
or they literally just, you know, go beyond what the other person perceives as a problem. Now, a little warning for you here, we’re going to go really deep in this episode. And when I said we’re going to go deep, I’m going to talk about some very complex things, but I’m going to break them down into simplicity and that I’ll give you some very tangible tools at the end of the episode. When we think about problems, what problems do we have now?
As I look at my life over the years, the biggest problem that I ever had was or perceived problem rather on a problem of my ego and my conditioning was money problems. I grew up poor. As you may already know, if you’ve listened to any amount of episodes. we have all these things that we perceive as problems. And then we believe there are problems. They are problems. And then we wrestle with them. We have health problems.
We have relationship problems and many of us have money problems. Now I think back to a conversation, something I’ve shared many years ago, it was something that Anita Morgani said. Now I need a Morgani wrote a book called dying to be me and she had a near death experience and what she talked about. She said something that was extraordinarily profound and we don’t really get it until we get it. But she said,
Jim Fortin (04:54.384)
the way to heal because she literally crossed over, she transitioned. I mean, she was very sick. And by the way, her book, dying to be me, in my opinion, is a really good book. She said the way to heal is to need no healing. Now I heard that in 2021 or so, and I just come out of the year 2020, literally kicking the bucket as well and being very, very sick in 2020. And so when she said that,
because I was already on the path of healing and I was already actually pretty well. I understood exactly what she meant. There’s another guy. I’ll come back to that. Another guy that I knew many years ago, he’s not on the planet. And you know, it’s interesting is he had always speculated that he would leave the planet very young for many years. I had known him. He always said, I’m not going to live very long. I have no idea why I say that, but I’m not. Well, he died. He left the planet like at 31 years old, but he used to say,
To need nothing is to have everything. So back to Anita Murghani to need no healing is to actually have healing and be healed. And I’ll break this down for you further as we go. Okay. So when we look at what I opened with is that the problem, the only problem we have is the belief that we have a problem.
And as I’d mentioned a bit ago, many of us think we have problems with money and health and relationships. I’m back to Anitta Murghani. When she was healing, she didn’t keep holding as best I understand the thought process and the feelings of, which is what many people do. I’m sick and I have to heal. I’m sick and I have to heal. I’m lonely and I’ve got to get out and meet people. I don’t have any money and I have to hustle and grind and I have to make money.
Well, if you look at those three life circumstances, all three of those circumstances are literally declaring, I have a problem. And the problem is, is I do not have money. I do not have health. I do not have wellness. I do not have love, whatever it might be. So what we’re really doing is by focusing on the problem, we are reinforcing and expanding the problem. This is why we have to actually, which I will,
Jim Fortin (07:18.172)
I’ll share with you in just a moment exactly where we want to keep our attention, but we want to keep our attention in the higher aspect of us, the soulful aspect of us that has no problems doing this for many years. And I was briefly the same, but not really because again, I had the guidance of Don Hava here to help me through this. So I understand when Anita Murghani said to heal is to need no healing.
Because what we try to do, and I’ve been there many years ago, we try to use techniques and we have all these visualization techniques for money and the dream boards are techniques and all these kinds of things. Now, mind you, in self-defense, I have talked about techniques here and the reason why, which I was saying earlier on a call day, many people need process. They really don’t, but they think they need process.
So a technique can be a process, which I’ll talk about in just a moment. But what many of us do is we attach to the process. So many people have all these processes for healing or for relationships or from love or whatever it might be. And every process that we use, every technique that we use, at least energetically and frequency reinforces
reinforces the problem you’re trying to solve. Let’s break that down and give you some examples. Now being a hypnotist, I already knew this. Okay. I don’t mean that arrogant look like, I knew that, but I already knew it to use hypnosis is literally to imagine outcomes as you want them to be, not as they are. Let’s say, for example, when it comes to healing, what many people do is they pray for healing.
And when they’re praying, and by the way, religions teach you to do this. When people are praying for healing, what they are simultaneously doing is affirming that they are sick. And then they say, well, I do not want to be sick. I want to be well. So I’m going to pray for wellness, or I’m going to do all these techniques because I need to heal. So what you’re really reaffirming in that moment or affirming is that you are not well.
Jim Fortin (09:43.638)
Ponder that that’s very powerful when you get that and then go back to needing nothing is having everything. So as I just had mentioned, and I did this for many years, I kind of in a jovial way, in a good way, laughing myself back in my thirties when I was struggling so damn hard for money. And I tell you, man, I was a visualization kid by nickname. mean, I was all about visualize, visualize, visualize, visualize abundance.
And I did a shit ton of the visualization for abundance and abundance never came. Why? Because when I would visualize for abundance, I would be in that place and that’s where my attention would be in that moment. But what I didn’t recognize now as I look back 30 years ago, 25 years ago, I was working from the problem of not having money. And that was my bigger frame. So my bigger mental frame was I do not have money. Therefore let me visualize for abundance.
Let me visualize for money coming in. Let me visualize for opportunities coming in. The subtle difference here is that when we pray or we visualize for these things to come to us, what we are affirming is that we do not have these things. Now think about the frequency and the consciousness we’re putting out when we are imagining that we do not have health, but we want health. We do not have money, but we want money. Your frequency then.
Is a feeling. Remember episode nine, we go from thoughts to feelings to vibration, the frequency. the feeling is I feel like I don’t have it. So then the universe corresponds to our frequency and our vibration. So if we feel like we don’t have it, if the universe could speak, it would say, okay, you are praying for health or money or abundance, which means you do not have it. And so my job as a universe is to give you.
what and where your attention is and your attention is you do not have it. But what I also want you to notice here, and this is a very pivotal takeaway is when we are praying for something that we do not have of the things I could be anything. I mean, I gave you several big categories. What we are also doing in that moment is we are reaffirming our separation from source.
Jim Fortin (12:11.819)
And the lunacy is, is that we all come from source and we are not separate from source. Now, I know this podcast has been downloaded in 38 different countries. No matter where you are, which country you’re in, you are still connected to source. You have air there, you have water, you have earth, you have all these things. Now you have a differently
But you have all these things that we have on other places on the planet, which all these things on the planet were created before we ever got here because they were created by source. All right. So how do you fix this? Like Anita Morgani said, stop trying to heal. Let me give you a real life example of that. And I’ve talked about this before, but it may make more sense in this context. I used to go to acupuncture every week when I lived in Dallas.
And my acupuncturist, Dr. Knee was Chinese, amazing man. A lot of his friends were in the Chinese community, but one of his friends also, and I don’t even know why I’m mentioning it because it’s not relevant now that I think about it, but I just learned the story that way. Dr. Knee told me their story, which is why I’m sharing it that way. One of his friends was an MD and the MD, he was having some physical problems. He kind of suspected being an MD, what might be going on? And he went.
to get a checkup with another doctor come to find out after testing, he had stage four cancer and his doctors told him, you know what? You’ve got four months to live. We’re going to start radiation. We’re going to do this. We’re going to do that. We’re to do all these things to heal you. And by the way, you’ve heard me say before is that healing does not come from the outside. It comes from your consciousness. So this doctor said, no, no.
I’ve got four months on the planet left. I’m going to spend these four months with my wife. We’re going to travel the country. I feel fine. And I’ll leave it at that. So he went and traveled the country for four months and had a great time with his wife. When he came back, he went to his doctor for a checkup. There was no sign of cancer. Now in fairness, I didn’t hear the story firsthand. Dr. Knee told me this.
Jim Fortin (14:35.073)
A very reputable, actually, I probably respect Dr. Ne more than most people. Very, very, very humble, wise man. He was my Kung Fu teacher. He was my Tai Chi teacher. He was my Qigong teacher and he was my acupuncturist. Very spiritual man. And I have a tremendous amount of respect for him. So he has no reason to fabricate this. But Dr. Ne was saying that when the guy got back, he was well, he was healed.
And now I look back, I look back at that years later and I think back to when Don Javier said, when you’re physically ill and he taught me this years ago, the way to heal is to go into silence because when you go into complete silence of the mind, what happens is universal divine mind, universal intelligence automatically starts healing the body because the natural state of the body is healthy and well. So this doctor had
dis ease disease, which is not healthy and well, so when we go into the silence, meaning not even our individual silence, when we go into the void, the silence of universal mind, and that might maybe look maybe a little nebulous when we just get quiet. In that moment, you remove your egotistical, individualized, analytical mind.
And the best way to say this is spirit, universal consciousness, the universal intelligence goes to work on the body to heal the body. look at abundance. As I’d mentioned, you’ve heard me say before, you know, I grew up poor. I struggled with money for so damn many years. And I recognize many years ago, the more that I chased abundance, the less abundance that I had.
And in my twenties and in my thirties, I kid you not, I busted my ass trying to make money. Man, man, man. I was creative. I knew how to market my butt off, but it just, was always such a struggle. And what I recognized and I’m evidence of when I stopped all the struggle, all the hustle, and I did one thing and one thing only money started flooding into my life.
Jim Fortin (17:01.883)
When I took all of my attention and all of my fear and all of my worry off money, and I simply said one phrase, four words, how may I serve? When I started working from that place at a heartfelt soulful level, money started flowing into my life. So what happened is basically what I’m telling you here in this entire episode, I Jim
my fears, my worries, and my problems got out of the way. And I was then available to let divine mind, universal intelligence work through me. And when I started working from that place, that’s when the money started coming. And I don’t mean a little money. mean money that I never, ever, I never thought I would ever make the kind of money that I attract the kind of money manifest the kind of money.
accumulate whatever you want to call it. I never thought I would ever accumulate what I have over the past 15, 20 years, but it all happened when I stopped trying and when money stopped being a problem. know what you might be thinking. Well, Jim, that’s really hard when I’ve got a visa bill to pay and I’ve got a mortgage to pay and I’ve got all these kinds of things. Have you ever noticed this? The more that you hustle and grind, you may create a temporary solution.
But before you know it, you’re right back in the same problem again. So relationships, I was never one of those people, but I’ve seen so many people saying, I want a relationship. want a relationship. I want a relationship. I’m lonely. I don’t want to be single. Well, what are they projecting? And what I have found to be true is that, and this is hard for a lot of us is that we actually find love and a very deep.
and healthy and profound way when we stop seeking love. Many of us go out on the world wanting love, and that is a backwards approach. What I tell people is do not seek love, seek to be lovable. Now in these scenarios that I gave you the money, the health, the love, what is the common denominator? Well, the common denominator
Jim Fortin (19:28.409)
The being in the way is the human being. And the common element is in all the stories that I told you, the love and the relationships, the healing, the money, the common element is completely stopping human effort and just being, being in the silence. And that’s, trust me,
growing up where I learned to work hard growing up, I was, it was hammered into my head. You’ve got to work hard and you got to work hard and you got to work hard and you got to struggle and you got to hustle. Holy F and shit. If that was tattooed on me, my whole body would be that tattoo. You’ve got to struggle. You got to grind. You have to hustle. And when you do, then you can make money. When I stopped that shit that I was taught and I stopped the human effort,
And I’ll give you, I’ll give you the solution in just a moment because there was another part of this coming in just a moment. Okay. But when I stopped all that, that is when everything started changing. And that in shamanism is what they call the simultaneous doing and the not doing. And I’ll break that down in the moment. We do things, but we think that we do things with our body. We’ve also got to do things with our mind so we can do things to make money. And we think, okay, I’m making money.
But my mind is worry, worry, worry, worry, worry, worry. No, I’ll show you how to get out of that crap in just a moment. Okay. Next, this is a big leap. The identity shift. And I don’t mean the 3d identity shift. I don’t mean how you see yourself and the characteristics of being a human being because we have all these identities in us. I’m a good dancer. I’m good at math. I’m bad at math. I’m poor.
I’m rich, I’m black. I’m w we have all these identities that we learned. They’re all inherited. Every one of them, something I heard one time hit me right between the eyes, like a baseball bat or two by four. And that phrase is this. You are consciousness, not someone who has consciousness because for many years I thought, okay,
Jim Fortin (21:51.402)
I am Jim. I am this container. I am this ego. I am this bag of skin and I have consciousness, but notice what I was doing. I was making consciousness separate and apart from me. And when I started recognizing that, Whoa, okay. I am conscious. Ness think about that. The difference is instead of having consciousness, you are consciousness.
And when you recognize yourself as consciousness, guess what? God is consciousness. And now you’re recognizing yourself as God, but you have to get the ego identity out of the way. And again, just in just a moment, I don’t want to be repetitive, but I’m being repetitive. Obviously I will give you one sentence that really helped me eliminate what I perceived to be problems my life many years ago.
And even today I live from that phrase and it makes my life. my gosh. So much easier. So notice what I just said. When you think you’re someone that has consciousness, you are inferring that you are separate from consciousness and you are not. The truth is you are consciousness expressing as awareness. Now back to the point I said earlier,
I know what’s many of your thinking and I can go deeper on this and I’ll go a little deeper, but I’m not going to go as deep as I can because I want to make it tangible for you where you can use this because many people hearing this are already thinking, okay, Jim, I can use this to make money and I can use this new way of being that you’re sharing with me to find love and I can use this to find all these things in the world. Well, notice what you’re doing again.
You’re literally filtering everything I said right through the human 3d identity and ego, which then defeats every bit of the work that you’re doing. So I’m going to keep on going, but again, I’ll give you a takeaway. Okay. What’s important to recognize is we don’t get love. We don’t get health. We don’t get abundance. Think back to Anita Margani to heal is to need no healing. She wasn’t trying to get
Jim Fortin (24:16.936)
healing. She was healing by needing no healing. So what we have to recognize is to get love or health or abundance or whatever we want. We are these things first. Now to concretize that a little bit, hopefully it’ll concretize. I remember before I ever moved to Sedona in 2016, I was visiting Don Javier. We’re sitting on the back porch late one night and he said, so many people want to process to be happy.
And they say, tell me, tell me what are the steps to be happy? What is the process to be happy? And he said, and here’s the conundrum. Here’s where you, you know, I went in circles for a while. The way to be happy is the way to be happy. Meaning just be, there’s that phrase again, just be, be, have just be happy. So the way
to exercise this again is the silence and then be the outcome very gently without forcing it without struggling. Be the outcome in your mind as if it’s already happened and already true. We’ll work on that a little more. Okay. So what I look at is problems don’t exist. Now, trust me, I, I, I understand the things that we can talk about the health pro. I’ve been there.
The money problems, I’ve been there. The relationship problems, shit, I’ve been there. I’ve been where you’ve been. And then we get into our head about it. And then I recognize long ago, we’re just making this shit up in our head. It doesn’t mean that it’s real. It just means that’s our, that’s our, well, one of my mentors used to call a hallucination. One day, one of my mentor mentors said to me, so that’s your hallucination today. So it’s a hallucination. That’s something that’s made up in the mind, in our mind. Okay. We have to also understand the paradox.
And the paradox is that we think we have to do to create, but the doing interferes with the consciousness because divine consciousness operates without human interference. So what many of us do is we struggle and we struggle, but when we struggle, we’re actually demonstrating to the universe resistance. When we talk about spirituality.
Jim Fortin (26:43.102)
many people try to be spiritual. And I remember reading cry on one time, Lee Carol as the name of the channel or for cry on cry on is K R Y O N and crack cry on said that every human being has a spark of divinity in them. They just do not know it. So we’re all spiritual. However you define that not religious, but we’re all spiritual. We are all consciousness.
But then many of us try to be spiritual when we don’t have to try to be spiritual because we already are spiritual and because we are consciousness and God is consciousness. The universe is consciousness. We are one in the same with consciousness. So hopefully you’re saying, and I really hope I’ve conveyed it well enough to at least get the ball across the plate. We’re seeking what is already inside of us.
It blows my mind and I get, shouldn’t say it that way, but people go to church seeking God. Well, first that’s many times community, which I understand, but it’s religion and it’s dogma. And we have to stop seeking God and realize that God seeks through you. This will make more sense. Now I shared a conversation that I was having with a guy named Nick Vojcik one time. Nick Vojcik is a guy from Australia. You might’ve seen him online.
He and I were having debtor in Dallas, I don’t know, 15 years ago or so. He was telling me that he was thinking of committing suicide when he was 15 and he was mad. He was born of no arms and no legs and he was mad. And he’s like, I’m going to kill myself. I’m going to kill myself. God, you tell me why you did this to me. Why did you make me like this? And Nick is religious. So it’s wrapped in Christianity. God said, so
I can work through you. And that’s where, that’s where I want to start wrapping up this episode is that we want to keep doing the things that we’re doing as the behavior, but we want to let the universe work through us. So let me give you a couple of examples here of what I mean by that. So people will say, well, Jim, okay, I get all this, but how am I going to make money?
Jim Fortin (29:09.377)
Money is a big thing to me or how am I going to get well or whatever. This is a place that I’ve lived from. And by the way, I’m not a master at any of this. I’ve gotten pretty good. Honestly, I I’ve gotten pretty good at it, but as far as mastering, I’ll probably never master it while I’m on this planet, but I’m evolving. Let me put it that way. So let’s say that it’s money that you want and you’re like, okay, Jim, I get if you’re wanting me to let the universe do it, then what do I do?
I mean, okay, I understand I’ve got to do something. Do I just sit here and go home all day long? What do I do? Well, what we do is we keep doing what we do, but we don’t, we don’t keep doing what we do from desperation, from fear. No, to give you a tangible example, me, for example, and I think many of you can relate to this is these podcasts and things that I do.
they inspire me to want to take action. So what you want to do, and this is going to be, I don’t mean to throw a curve ball at you, this is going to be challenging for some people because they hate what they do. So a caveat here is find what inspires you. And many times you’ll find that when you actually do what inspires you, it becomes a lot easier to make money. So what I do generates revenue.
The transformational coaching program, the B2Hav Insiders, a new group that I have coming, the Becoming Unstoppable program, different programs that I have that I do, they generate revenue. But here’s the thing. I don’t just do these things out of fear, out of worry. I don’t do them to make money, even though I, like you, have bills to pay. I do them because I’m inspired by the service.
And I work from being inspired by the service. And when I work from that place is when I have made the most amount of money. Let’s talk about health. This doesn’t mean simply, just trust the universe. And this person could say they’re sick, but Jim said, just trust the universe. I’m not going to go to the doctor. I’m not going to do this. I’m, I’m, I’m going to do nothing like God, the universe, divine mind take. No.
Jim Fortin (31:33.877)
It means let’s say that you are experiencing a condition in the body. Well, you definitely understand the condition, but what you do is you maintain the awareness of the spiritual essence and reality that you are consciousness and consciousness is God. do that simultaneously while you’re experiencing
the physical ailments, whatever it is. That’s what I tell people is where mental mastery comes in. Because so many times, and I’ll give you some exact sentences you can use on yourself in just a moment. So many times we say, I’m sick, I’m sick, I’m sick, I’m sick. Well, when we say that, that is where our consciousness is. And that’s what the universe is going to bring to you. And I’ll give you some solutions in just a moment. Actually one sentence.
that you can use to start moving out of the doing and any of the situations in life and into the being and the oneness with divine consciousness. So again, I want to repeat, okay, I’m gonna be very clear. If you have a medical condition and you feel like you need medical help, well then get medical help. Just never lose sight of what governs everything in the universe and what governs
Everything in the universe is conscious. Okay. So your transformational takeaway is this. All right. I told you, I’d give you one sentence. So what we want to do, the whole meat and potatoes of this episode is we want to shift you from your individual personal identity to consciousness. And I talked earlier about shifting identity from the ego to consciousness. So practical application.
Let’s say that somebody is depressed. Many times I’ve heard people say, I am depressed. I am depressed. I am depressed. Wrong. That person is not depressed. They weren’t, they didn’t pop out of the womb and the doctors go, your name is depressed. They are a being. They are consciousness experiencing depression. So what we say is I am not Jim who is depressed.
Jim Fortin (33:56.928)
I am not Jim who is depressed or I am not Bob who is broke or I am not Susan who is lonely. That is our ego. That is that condition, not our soul. So my request to you is start practicing the tip, final takeaway here at the end of this, start practicing that you are not the condition. You are the experiencer of the condition.
and you have the experience because you work consciousness. So we have to work from consciousness, not the condition. I know this episode went a little long. I apologize for that, but hopefully it all makes sense. And the main thing is not just to listen. The main thing is to take note of what you heard and start applying it with consistency in your own life. Thanks for listening. I’ll catch you over on another episode. Bye bye.
