The Jim Fortin Podcast

EPISODE 235: “Honestly, You Can Be, Do And Have Everything You Want When…”

September 14, 2022

I know the headline is bold, but it is true. You can Be Do And Have everything you want WHEN you become resourceful enough to create it.

Look around you. Look at the millions of people who have created exactly what you want in life. Why have they done this and you have not? Easy, the have become resourceful enough to create it.

Most people work backwards. They want resources, and that is often money or something they think they want.

The problem with that is that resources come and go but it’s the initial resourcefulness that created the resources in the first place.

What does it look like to be resourceful?

The definition of resourceful is: Having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties.

The definition of un resourceful is: Not having the ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties. In plain English. It means you give up, quit and make excuses about why you can’t Do, Be or Have what you want in life.

As you just read through that, which applies to you? (Even if you don’t want to admit it.)

I want you to have more and that is why I created this audio (podcast) titled: You can BE, DO and Have everything you want when you are resourceful.

Enjoy it while you’re listening, but more than that…apply the concept and watch your life start changing in the ways you never imagined.

The reason you don’t have what you want in life is because you are not being resourceful enough to create it. What dramatic change? BE resourceful!

You're listening to the Transform your Life from the Inside Out podcast. This episode is titled How to Be, Do, and Have Anything When You Are More Resourceful, it's 2022. And there are a lot of crazy things going on in the world, especially around global economics and many people right now are actually struggling for money and the reality they don't have to be many people are struggling because they're operating by their resources, meaning things they have in their life, as opposed to being resource full. Most often, many people say I want more resources. And specifically, as it pertains to, to this episode, for many people that's money and they want more resources, but you know what If you don't have the resources, then you have to be more resourceful to create the resources. So, this episode is about ways that you can become and looking at the concept of resourcefulness so that you can BE DO HAVE anything when you are more resourceful. This is a very, very powerful concept. And it's often overlooked. Keep listening and enjoy.

Then this podcast is for you because you're going to start learning how to master your mind and evolve your consciousness and when you do that, anything you want then becomes for you I'm glad you're here.

Hi, this is Jim Fortin. And I wanna talk to you about how to BE DO and HAVE anything that you want when you are resourceful. Most people don't understand the difference between resources and being resourceful. Many people think that if they have resources, then their life's gonna be amazing and that's not true because resources can be money. And I know many people that have a lot of money, and their lives are not happy as well. Many people when they're starting a business, many people will say, you know, what if I just had more money for my company, which is a resource then I could be successful. Well, how many companies have you seen that started out? They had a lot of money. They were well funded, and the company went under in a couple of years. And on the flip side, maybe another company that they didn't have any money and they got creative, and they bootstrapped it. And today it's a very successful company. That's the difference between being resourceful and having resources, resources are finite being resourceful it's infinite.

So that's the difference between the two. So, I have a question for you. Do you want more in your life and you don't have it if you want more in your life and you don't have it plain and simple, you're not being resourceful? I know you may not want to hear that, but that is the truth. This audio is simple, but it's intended to help you reach for anything that you may want, even if you don't know how to get it. Like I said, it's pretty simple. You can be resourceful, and you can create it, or you can do what a lot of people do, and you can quit. Those are really your only two options to be resourceful and create it or not be resourceful and not creating it. Now, this is 2022. And now in this economy, more than any time in the past 40 years, you must become more resourceful if you want to thrive financially and you want to thrive in business and you want to create more in life, you know, in 2022, it's no secret that the global economic climate is a little bit tight and uncertain right now. So, the question that I have for you, do you want to survive, or do you want to thrive in the current global economy?

That answers up to you and it's based upon how resourceful you're BEing and the more resourceful you're BEing, the more you can have despite any economy, you know, the economy is what I call an external circumstance. And are you letting the external circumstances in your life determine the quality of your life or are you being resourceful and are you determining the quality of your life? Because it's up to. The key to everything that you want. I think you're getting it by this point is resourcefulness. Let me share a quick personal story with you. In 2020, I had both a stroke and heart failure in the very same year. Now the doctors told me after the heart failure, I hired all this kind of mumbo jumbo like you're going to be sick for the rest of your life and you have to take this medication and you have to do that and you have to watch this and be careful with that. And even in the hospital, I knew better. And I said, that's nonsense. And what I did is I found ways to be resourceful, to heal myself, to completely get off the me.

And even after I had a stroke, I decided, you know what, this is not going to affect me long term. And the fact that I'm talking to you now perfectly normal, perfectly healthy demonstrates that I was resourceful. A lot of people let things like that. Slow them down for a year, two years. I didn't do that because I chose a different path, which is what I wanna expose you to right now, as I may have said, a little earlier, many people confuse resources and resourcefulness. Resources are money relationships, tools and maybe even healthcare opportunities, which by the way, a lot of people don't have resourcefulness. Is this coming up with solutions? It's being creative to get the outcome that you want. And I think it's pretty apparent by this point. If you don't have what you want in life, you're not being resourceful because you're not getting creative enough and being creative enough to come up with the solutions to create what you want.

I know that's a little bit painful to hear and maybe even a little bit monotonous and redundant but that's the truth. So, this audio is about, and a question for you is how you do be resourceful when you want something, but you don't know how to get it right here is where 90% of people quit. I've done this for many, many years meaning I've been in this industry for decades. And I can tell you the majority of people quit. And the fact that you're listening to this audio right now means that you're probably not in the majority of people, because if you were, you probably would not be listening to this audio, but yet again, you're not being resourceful enough that's why you're listening to this audio. You're not being resourceful enough to be creative enough. To create the life that you want. You know, as I was just saying many people quit, I remember talking to a good friend of mine. She owns a company she's about 35 years old. The company has about a hundred million dollars a year in business she has 66 employees. And she said to me, you know, she goes Jim, and all the people that I've impacted in the world and all the people that I've spoken to in the thousands of interviews that I've done. What I've recognized is that most people quit. They hit a problem. They don't know the solution and they quit in that moment.

So, look at your current life situation right now you've gotten everything that you have, and you've gotten in with a certain degree of resourcefulness, but again, if you don't have what you want, then you've not been resourceful enough. Now, when you look at what you have created, you look at your home, you look at your car, maybe you wanted a new car and you figured out a way to get it. Look at your job. Maybe you wanted a particular job. You didn't know how to get it. You went beating on doors, knocking on doors, talking to people, networking, sending out resumes. Maybe you even did something creative. That's being resourceful. How about this? What about your partner? Now I say this jobly, but I remember many years ago, a husband and wife, he was a friend of mine and his wife, because this was in Texas where I lived, his wife met him, and she knew that he was pretty much text in at heart. He wore boots and kind of a cowboy and everything else though he was very wealthy, and she told me when they went on their first date, she went to the store, and she wanted to buy a Western outfit. So, what she did is she wrote a check for money she didn't have, and then she figured out the next day, how to cover the check, but she had to have the outfit that day to go on the date. So, she wrote it, knowing that she would have to be resourceful to cover it. So, the check didn't bounce, I'm in a pretty simple story, but that's being resourceful. So, as I was saying, maybe you've been resourceful to attract the partner.

What about this? Many people want to have kids and they cannot conceive. And many people get very resourceful about how they can conceive and they're trying this thing and that thing and doing this and that and talking to this professional and this expert and this doctor and this kind of service and everything else. Why? Because they want an outcome. They want the child; they want the baby. They don't know how to create it. Instead of just stopping and saying, we can't do this. They're figuring out how to do it. And, you know, a high percentage of the population, they want a much, much, much better life. But what they do is they immediately go into resignation and resignation is when you're saying, I want X, Y, Z, I desire X, Y, Z. I don't like my life, the way that it is, but you know what? I can't have that. And let me tell you all the reasons that I can't have it, the reason they can't have it is not because of the reasons it's because they're in resignation. When you truly want something, you will make it happen. And you will find a way.

Many of us have heard our mothers say, and it's such a banal statement, but it's so true where there is a will there is a way and think about that where there is a will there's a way, because if you really want something badly enough, you'll figure it out. I remember when I was a kid, I was 12 years old, and I wanted some new Nikes. My dad said, well, you've gotta earn the money. And I said, how he said, I don't know, figure it out. And what I did is I said, hey dad, can I start going to work with you? I went to the general manager, and I said, can I mow the lawn here? And they had lawns along the perimeter of the professional building, a general manager said, well, we already have someone, but your dad's worked here for years. Your grandfather's worked here. Okay. We'll let you mow the lawn, and we'll pay you $10. And it wasn't the very big lawn, but I did that, and I made the money to buy the tennis shoes. As a matter of fact, I made several hundred dollars that summer. That was in actually 1977 or 78 or so, which was a lot of money back then.

So, what I do is I teach people and I encourage people to work from possibility, not resignation thinking. Because resignation thinking is I can't, I don't know how I can't afford, I guess I'll do without I'm stuck. when you get into that thinking, nothing will ever change for you. Why? Because that thinking is perpetuating your life. Again, resignation thinking I can't, I don't know how I can't afford I don't know. People like me don't have that. There's no way that I can do this. There's always a way that you can do it. It's just that you have not figured out the way, yet possibility think. Is very empowering and it's also 100% possible, 100% of the time ponder that. If we want to keep that simple, we can say this for every problem, meaning you want something and you don't have it. And that's a problem for every single problem. There is a solution. And if you don't believe me, look at human history, look at your own life. Look at your grandparents. Look at people around you. Look at your neighbors. They don't know how to get something. They figure it out. So, the question I have for you right now is are you a resignation thinker or are you a possibility thinker? And please only you are going to know the answer, be honest, but what is the answer also? You can't change your life if you're not willing to be honest with yourself, and if you're not willing to become more creative and more resourceful and specifically you're not willing to make it happen when I say make it happen.

Honestly, you can't make anything happen. I mean, we can't control life, but what you can do is you can actually take these steps and the actions to create the outcome that you want. And again, like I said earlier, look at people around you look at your grandparents, look at your siblings, look at your kids sometimes. Let me give you a simplified example here of a family friend of mine, her son, who is eight years old, said, mom, I want a particular video game. I think it was a Nintendo or whatever is popular this day and age. And she said, okay, if you make the money, then guess what? You can, you can buy it. I'll let you buy. And the thing was, is she thought she told me, she goes, oh, there's no way he's gonna make the money. It's 300 and something dollars. It'll take him a year to make that money. Well, what he did, he started asking around in the neighborhood and said, hey, does anybody need pet sitting? Eight-year-old little boy, he found a lady that said, yes, you know what, I'm going away next week. And I will pay you 30 bucks per day to feed my cat. And he did that for 10 days, made the 300 bucks. He had the couple of extra dollars he needed, and he bought a Nintendo and a matter of about two weeks, which is being resourceful.

Okay. Let me interrupt this episode very quickly as you might have heard me talking about. The BE DO HAVE series. The ending of that is the offering of the Transformational Coaching Program, which is my 13-week life changing in person program with me and my coaches TCP as we call it is closing the day after this podcast airs. And what that means is. TCP the opportunity to transform your life with me and my team. This is the last time that I'm offering it in 2022. And this cohort of TCP, we're going to be doing something we've never done before. Now, of course, we offer a payment plan for the program, but what we're doing is we're adding a new benefit for you guys. We've never done this. But for this TCP, we're going to give it a whirl and try it out and see how it works. But you know what, when you enroll, you can bring a partner, a best friend, a family member, a coworker, and they can actually be your accountability partner as you're both transforming your life. But here's the better thing for you when you enroll at the full investment in the program, your accountability partner, or husband, or wife or whoever it is, it comes with you comes no charge. All that we ask is that just like you. They do the work. As I've said, we have never done this before in the history of the Transformational Coaching Program. Will we do it again? I don't know because I'm gonna see what the results are and how it works and how manageable it is. But all I know right now is that we're offering you the opportunity to transform your life. And someone else can do this with you as you're doing it. So, make sure that you get enrolled for the fall 2022 cohort of the transformational coaching program. Okay back to the episode.

So, to be resourceful, use every tool in your toolbox. What resources do you have available to you that you can be resourceful with? But first a little fun. Let me ask you some questions. Some resourcefulness questions and scenarios. Okay, here we go. If you manage the pet store and a snake got loose and you're not sure where the snake is, how do you find the snake? Question number two, you love animals, and someone has given you an elephant and you can't give it away. What do you do with it? Question number three. How many square feet at pizza is eaten in the United States yearly? Another question how many footballs can you fit into your bathroom? Another question, how would you sell hot chocolate in a Florida summer? Now notice you have to become creative. You have to start imagining the answers and you have to be creative about, well, how would I find that answer? I mean, the bathroom one, how many square feet is my bathroom? How, you know, how big is a football, when you start thinking in that way you start becoming creative. And that leads to also, and simultaneously being resourceful to come up to the answer, I did mention the word creative and one of the foundations of resourcefulness is creativity, meaning I don't know the answer, but I sure will figure it out.

You know, a brutal truth is if you roll over and say, I can't do be you have X, Y, Z, the reality is you will never have it and sharing another truth with you. I did that for many years. I did it all the way into my thirties. Into my early thirties why, I worked from my circumstances, and I used to say, you know what, here's all the money that I have. And because this is the money that I have, the things that I want, I can't have what I never did. And it's kind of embarrassing, but what I never did is I never thought, okay, I want X, Y, Z. I don't know how to get it, but how can I be resourceful to BE DO or HAVE, X, Y, Z, and the same thing applies to you. That's why I've said twice already. It's not that hard. It's just a shift from depending on resources and working from resources to being resourceful. Because like I said earlier to every problem, there is a solution. And if you don't believe that, you’re not being resourceful. So, ask yourself, what do I want? That's a big question. And you know, what's interesting is that when I ask people what they want, many people don't even know what they want and they're not resourceful enough to figure out what they want. And that right there shows you that they're not resourceful and that's why they stay stuck in that place many times for a lifetime.

I wanna share a tip with you. This is really important, and it scares the hell out of a lot of people, but you know, what you can do is take action now, many of us wait for more resources to take action. And I'll tell you right now that if you take action now, even if you don't have the resources, what you will do is you will become resourceful enough and creative enough to create the resources by virtue of the fact that you took action. When you weren't ready to take action. Because, like I said, if you're waiting for the resources to take action and you don't take action, you will never have the resources. So, I have a couple of questions you can ask yourself. In what ways do I need to be resourceful to make this happen? And whatever you're making happen is whatever you want. Another question to ask yourself, who can I ask for help and what help do I need? and also you can say, who can I ask for help and how can I make me ask them for help beneficial to them that way it's a win-win for both people. Another question to ask yourself is in the past, when I didn't know the answer to something, what did I do? Did I quit? Or did I go find that answer? Another question, who do I have to be in terms of my characteristics to make this happen? I want to say that you basically have to be somebody committed to getting what you want.

It's as simple as that. And I've said that probably three times now this is not really hard, but most of us don't think about it. And the way that I'm sharing with you now, it's a simple matter of how I do be more resourceful because when you're more resourceful, you can be and you can do, and you can have anything you want in any economy. And you can argue with that. All you've gotta do is look at the world around you. And there are many people right now in this economy making a lot of money. There are many people doing very, very well in this economy. It's not the economy. It's a matter of resourcefulness and how resourceful people are being, because if they're only working by their resources, guess what they are then a victim of the economy. And you may even be wondering why did I create this audio for you? The reason why is that many times people want to enroll in my programs, my Transformational Coaching Program. And they'll say, you know, Jim, I really want that. And I really need it., but they won't do anything differently beyond saying that and hoping and wishing and wanting and praying, hoping, and wishing and wanting and praying will not get you the results that you want.

You know, the old quote if wishes came true, then beggars would be Kings. It's not about hoping and wishing and wanting and praying it's about being resourceful. So, I created this audio to get you to start thinking in different ways about being resourceful. So that guess what you can enroll in my programs, and I can help you get to an, even a higher place in life where you can actually thrive and not thrive just now in this economy but thrive for the rest of your life. I tend to always look back at people that have done great things. And I look at Tesla, Nicola Tesla, and Ford and Einstein, and Salk. Jonas Salk. That is. And even old Doc Brown in the movie, back to the Future, all of these people were resourceful. They were trying to create something. They didn't know how to do it. And they got resourceful figuring out how to do it. Now, I don't know if you want to change the world or not. I don't know if you're like most people, you simply want a better life for yourself, a better quality of life. You want more resources in your life, but the reality is if you don't have more resources in your life, which could be money, guess what? You're not being resourceful enough to create the resources. And if you're not being resourceful enough to create the resources. I'm telling you this, honestly, that will never, ever, ever change for you until you commit to being resourceful. There's no other way. Thanks for listening. And hopefully this audio helped you recognize that you can have or do or be anything you want in life. It's not a matter of the external economy. It's a matter of being resourceful to create whatever tools, whatever pathway, whatever avenue you need to BE, DO, and HAVE what you want as an end result.

Okay. A very quick reminder, the Transformational Coaching Program, which will completely help you reinvent your life from the inside out is closing the day after this podcast airs. We've never done this before. And I don't know if we'll do it again. We just have to see how it works out. Okay. Thanks for listen.
