The Jim Fortin Podcast
EPISODE 223: “Are You A Spiritual Weekend Warrior?”
June 22, 2022
We all understand the concept of organization and things that we think we need to do in the world: Organize the office, clean the garage, organize the pantry, organize the files and the list goes on and on, right?
However, how many of us think about the concept of organizing ourselves, and what do I mean by “organizing yourself?”
I mean this in a spiritual way, and have you ever thought about that? What does it mean to “organize yourself spiritually?”
Working with a shaman for decades I used to think he did things to assist me and one day I realized that he led me to organize myself internally because when I do that things start to work fluidly in life.
What this means is to align yourself with your higher mind, function, and purpose and if you cannot organize your thinking and behavior around that you cannot align yourself with higher mind, spirit, Divine force, the quantum field, etc.
The definition of organization is: Arrange into a structured whole; order.
Now ask yourself, is your life spiritually organized? And, specifically in regard to your life/spiritual prioritizations? An important point to recognize is that organization takes prioritization and do you have your spiritual thoughts and behaviors organized in a hierarchy of values? What’s at the top of your value ladder? Spiritual evolution or 3D human things? Are you a “Spiritual Weekend Warrior” and prioritizing when it is convenient for you?
Transformational Takeaway
When you organize your thoughts, behaviors, and actions with the higher callings of your soul/spirit, that will be priceless for you.
More Jim!

You're listening to the Transform your Life from the Inside Out podcast. This episode is titled Are You a Spiritual Weekend Warrior and prioritizing that when it's convenient for you. What I mean by that is so many people that call themselves spiritualist. And candidly, even people that call themselves and identify as religious. Are many times a weekend warrior. Meaning their spiritual or their religious when it's convenient for them, which basically means on the weekend when nothing else is going on. In this whole episode is about, are you living your life spiritually by convenience, keep listening.
Hi, I'm Jim Fortin, and you're about to start Transforming your Life from the Inside Out with this podcast. I'm widely considered the leader in subconscious transformation. And I've coached super achievers all around the world for over 25 years. Here, you're going to find no rah-rah motivation, and no hype. Because this podcast is a combination of Brain Science, Transformational Psychology, and Ancient Wisdom, all rolled into one to take your life to levels, you've never thought possible. If you're wanting a lot more in life, to feel better, to heal, to have peace of mind, to feel powerful and alive, and to bring more abundance and prosperity into your life. And this podcast is for you. Because you're going to start learning how to master your mind and evolve your consciousness. And when you do that, anything you want, then becomes possible for you. I'm glad you're here.
So, this episode, I intentionally mentioned the word spirituality, because I know that most people that follow the podcast and I'm very grateful are spiritually oriented people, meaning they just, they get it. And I know this not because I know the people listening per se. But I look at the amount of people who come from here into, my programs. And it's all people who taught about spirituality. And earth-based spirituality like shamanism, which is what I talk about because I have worked at the shaman for 25 years. So, I want to direct this podcast. To everyone. Even if you think you're not spiritual. And the reason I say that is we are all whether or not, you recognize it. We are all spiritual beings. And a lot of people when they hear that they think of religious/spiritual beings. And that's not what I mean. We all have a deep-rooted spirituality in us, yet most people don't even know it. So, we'll talk about that a little bit.
So, this episode is about organization. But it's about how do you organize yourself spiritually? And speaking of spirituality and cosmology. I got the idea for this episode a couple of days ago. When I woke up, the last dream that I had was about spiritual organization. And I do not like doing this, but I pulled out my phone and I wrote down some notes for this particular episode. The reason I say, I don't like doing it. Because normally I don't even pick up my phone as a rule of thumb until 11:00 AM. My phone is not touched because my AM for me being, you know, not having kids. And being self-employed my AM my morning is my spiritual time, but I'm like, okay, I want, I want to make sure I remember this, and I hang on to this. So let me write this down.
And I'm going to take this somewhere into the podcast. But what I want to talk about. And even though I say, spirituality is your essence. Because every single being on this planet. We all have essence. We all have consciousness, whether we want to accept, you know, the, the labels of religion or spirituality or whatever it might be. We all have an essence of life force and consciousness. And then I look at how do people organize that? Because what most people do. Are they organizing from the lower to the higher, instead of the higher to the lower, which we'll get to that a little bit later on in this episode? So, I want to just hop around here a little bit. You came into this world and on to this planet but as naked. You came with nothing except your biological body and the life force in that body. That is your representation at least 3d carbon based on the planet of spirit.
And you have the life force in you. I mean, you, if you didn't have life force, you wouldn't be listening right now. And the reality is most people, and I cannot toll stones. I've been there at many years ago in my past. Most people actually forget. About the essence of themself and then what most people do. And I'm using the word most and many. And you might be wondering why I'm using those words, because trust me, when I tell you I have interacted with literally millions of people in some way, in some essence, in some venue in my lifetime. And I see this. So, I'm going to use the word most. Is that most people organize their life not around their essence and their spirituality but around getting ahead and competition and the gold watch and the mortgage and the education and the homes and the cars and the social prestige and social status. That's how most of us from a very early age, learn to organize our reality. And in that organization of our reality, we organized most often we organize our spirituality below our essence, the carbon essence that we are meaning that 3d body.
I know that I attract spiritually oriented people. And literally the vein that I attract them in, and the kind of people are generally what I would consider. I'm going to use this lightly. But my vein of spirituality. Meaning respecting Pachamama, mother earth and. Understanding and grasping and believing in things like past lives and things of that nature. However, even though I attract a large dose, if not pretty much 99% of people that are spiritual. Many people that are spiritual will tune this out because they will think, you know, Jim, I already do all that. You know, I'm spiritual. I mean, obviously my spirituality is the number one thing in my life, and they will tune this out. But really, you're one of the people that I'm really, really talking to, because what I'm going to say will most likely apply to you. What I have found when people subscribe to any kind of linear thought system. Let's take religion, for example. Let me back up here, for example, before I even start that. Weekend warriors. We all know what that is. Right. The weekend warriors or the people who live for the weekend and they're out running a tough Mudder race and they're out hiking and climbing. And playing golf and tennis and all these kinds of things because they're weekend warriors. And I'm just being candid. Like it, not like it, but I find that many people are weekend religious warriors. Not even warriors really, they're caught in a dogma. But many, many, many, many people in this world that subscribed to organized religion. What they will do. And it's all around this every day. What they'll do is I'll go to church on Sunday. And that's like the weekend warrior, meaning I'm going to, you know, this is, this is Sunday. This is what I do.
And then they honk and yell at people and all these kinds of things, because traffic, when you're leaving the parking lot at church, Trust me. I used to live by a big church. I lived, I used to live in Texas and trust me, there are plenty of big churches in Texas, mega churches. And people would scream at each other. Across the parking lot and honk and all this kind of stuff. And I would think, wait, wait, wait, wait, what happened to what you just heard in that sermon about the golden rule and different things just 15 minutes ago. So many people are weekend warriors that practice organized religion, and it's on Sunday. And then the rest of the week, they forgot a lot of it or, oh yeah. Thank you for reminding me about that and that they're not living the tenants of the religion. I've noticed the same thing with many spiritualists, and I am not tossing any stones because I have been there before. My earlier years, I was a dabbler in spirituality before I met my brother-in-law.
I knew it called me and I knew it pulled me. It just seemed right. I mean, even when I was 16 and I don't know how growing up on a farm. And I don't know how I got it, but I stumbled on to the Rosicrucian. This is an ancient order and it just resonated with me when I was 16, the Rosicrucian and it's always resonated at a soulful level. But many spiritualists are akin to weekend warriors, but they're weekend warrior, spiritualist, metaphorically speaking. Meaning their spiritual when their Ohhm. And they're meditating. And then later they go into their self-pity, and they go into their anger, and they go into their frustration and their envy and all their counterproductive, human 3d emotions. So, they identify as spiritual yet they're not living the principles of most likely things like the course in miracles and stuff like that. So, they're identifying with the identity of that. But not practicing the practice of that. And that's what I want to talk about a little bit in this episode.
Let me segue here for a moment. If you're having money issues, I have an exclusive event coming up and you're going to want to attend. If you're feeling like you're trapped with money. I invite you to literally burn down the money stories that keep you trapped. This free event that I'm doing is on July the 14th. Now in this event, I'm going to share with you. An ancient process that I learned. From working of Don Xavier, the Shaman that I work with. We're going to use the ancient ceremony of fire. And we're going to burn your old money beliefs and your money blocks. That holds you back. Again, this is free and I'm doing it because the only thing that stands between you and money is your beliefs about money and the money traps that you're in mentally. So, speaking of mentally, make a mental note and a mental commitment now to attend, write the date down July the 14th and plan to attend again, it's free and because it's free. Feel free to share with your friends and family. I promise you they will be thanking you later, at least for what they're going to learn. Save the date, July the 14th and registration details are coming soon. Okay. Let's get back to the episode.
So, a question that I have for you. Is what is the most powerful state. The most powerful state that you can organize yourself in. And even as I'm asking you that, I remember speaking out in event. Many years ago, probably 15 years ago. And I asked something similar to this question. And somebody that yelled out California. And that's not what I mean by state. I mean, as. Uh, state of mind. What is the most powerful state of mind that you can organize yourself in and organize your life around that state of mind. I'm going to share with you right now. My learning. My observation and my perspective and perception. Is that the most powerful state of mind that we can be in? Is peace of mind and inner peace. Let that settle in. Peace of mind and inner peace. Think for a moment to even make that tangible, what inner peace does to the body. How it serves the body. How it brings you clarity. How actually the body gets in the way healing mode when you are in inner peace. So, in my learning and working with a Shaman in my observation and my experience. The most powerful state we can be in. Is this a state of inner peace all day long? Have I mastered it? Not no, but hell no. But yet I'm aware that that's where I want to keep my attention and anything that pulls from my inner state. Trust me when I tell you I have to work on it. And I have to have the awareness to know when I'm being pulled out of that place. And this is the process. I mean, we can listen to a podcast and different things, but life is a process.
And I don't really ever think we master, anything. We just get on the path, and we learn as we go, and we experiment, and we see what works for us. And what does it. So, the question that I have for you is. Is your life lived at least attempting to be mindful to live at an, a state of internal peace? Or are you driven by the external things that happen in your life? Holy shit. Bob did this, this person did that. I can't believe what Donald Trump did. Oh my gosh. What's that phrase? Um, come on. Uh, Joe Biden thing. Come on, come on. So-and-so. Whatever it was. That people attribute to him. And again, seriously, I am a political, I don't, let's go, Brandon. There we go. I don't I'm literally nonpartisan. Basically. I just I'm a libertarian. If anything, the government keep their hands out of my pocket. Out of my life and you know what? We're good. But inner peace.
Feel how that feels when you really just let that settle in. Inner peace. And I remember Don Xavier, my brother-in-law teaching me many years ago. He said to me one day when he called me. He said we can't do anything without peace of mind. Effectively. And this was 20 years ago. He shared this with me. And you think about that for a moment? Let me, let me just give you an example here. You think about that? And you think about. How worried you are about money. And then when you notice you're worried about money and many people listening have been there. When you're worried about money, notice you're not an internal piece. And then notice how hard it is to relax how hard it is to just even make a decision about anything related to money.
Why? Because you're not an internal piece, but then notice. Think back to a time in your past when you had plenty of money in the bank, whatever it was relative to you at that time. And you had plenty of money and you know what. It's a whole lot easier to make a decision about what to do with the money. Or where to spend or where, you know, were not to spend. Now many people also think that inner peace is meditation. And I remember Don Xavier. You're pulling me aside many years ago. And saying, you know, what many people they think that meditation is sitting down and doing a practice. But that's the same thing as people going to church wanting to be religious. And people think that, you know, sitting down Hohm, and the mood rose and everything else. Is us in meditation. But more powerful is when the essence of us isn't perpetual meditation. Meaning we live our life. In that meditation. And I'm going to tell you what's not conducive and compatible to that is living our life entirely by all the things in our 3d world that pull us out of that state of mind that create a lack of internal peace. A lack of internal quietness. So that's why I'm asking you. Is how do you have your life organized? Do you have an organized around learning to manage becoming mindful about your internal peace? Or do you have it organized as most of us do? Oh, okay. Jim, that's really good, but you know what? I've got to make a phone call first. I've got to do a zoom call first. I gotta do this first. I gotta do that first.
I have to go to work right now. I gotta do this. I gotta do that. I gotta do this. I gotta do that. I gotta do more of this now. Okay, this internal peace thing you're talking about. I can get to it now. So, teach me, you know, show me how to have it, because now I have time, because guess what? I actually am organizing this internal peace thing. I'm organizing it around the rest of my life. As opposed to organizing the circumstances of my life around internal peace. Many years ago. And I've said this on the podcast before Don Xavier called me. I even have a note here. Uh, there's a particular notebook I've had that really has a lot of writings in it. For me that had been very valuable. Just important for me over the years. And he said to me, which I think I haven't mentioned on a couple of podcasts to go. He spoke. When you align yourself with spirit? That will be priceless. Many of us, even though we call ourselves spiritual, we still don't align with spirit. We align with, Ooh, this is really cool. I like that. Oh, I love hearing this. Oh, this resonates with me. This speaks my language. Okay. Got to go to work. Got to do this. Gotta does that. And we're not really aligned with spirit. We are more aligned with the ideas of what we think spirit is, but not in the practice and not in immersion. And not in the inner peace of being spiritual.
So, let's answer this question. Is your life organized around your inner peace? Or is your life organized around your external 3d world? So where is the most organization? And so let me give you an example. Do you often get into what I call 3d third dimensional things? Meaning Fear. Worry. Money. And the status. Cars. Jobs and all these things that consume humans. If you get into that a lot and you find yourself in any, and a big one, shame and guilt. If you find yourself in any of that, guess what you have your life organized around all the while. You can be saying. I'm spiritual, I'm spiritual, I'm spiritual, maybe your spiritual interest, but you're not spiritual in the way that you have your life organized because your life is organized all around the 3-d crap. And that's something we have to look at. And that's something we have to become mindful of and be honest with ourselves about.
Now the opposite direction of that is many people listening. And you're the one I'm talking to a bit ago when I said a lot of people that listen to the spiritual. They're like no gym. I don't get into any of that. I don't get into any of that whatsoever. I mean, money's not important to me, but then again, I see a lot of these people who work from that place that are dead ass broke and they're chasing money and chasing money and worrying about it. Saying, oh, I'm spiritual. I'm all about essence, but then they're living their life because that's how they have it organized from the 3d stuff, from the fear and the worry and anxiety and all these kinds of things they get into, which are all 3d. So out of one side of their mouth, They're wanting to say, and they are saying, yes, I organize my life around spirituality, but no, I live my life around 3-d which therefore means you can't have it both ways where is your life predominantly organized? And that's what this episode is about. Where is your attention predominantly organized? Is it in 3d? Or is it in essence?
Want to share a story here. Well, not a story, but just, I want to share a concept. Many years ago. Don Xavier said to me that. Spirituality. Essence Cosmology. Is not about my convenience. What does that mean? What that means is, is how I used to live my life many years ago is okay. Yeah, I'll do my spiritual things. When it's convenient for me. Because it's not convenient right now, so I'll get to it later. I'll get to it tonight. When I get home, I'll get to it tomorrow morning. And then normally a lot of us, we never get to it. And so, we have to look at, are we organizing our essence? By the concept of convenience, meaning when it's convenient for us to have inner peace and live from this place, then we do it. And then when it's not convenient, not easy, we don't do it, but therefore we think many of us, we think, oh, I'm a spiritualist. But again, what I just said is we're not at all living from the spiritual principles and the practice and the being and the knowing. And the essence. We're living from the 3d. Something I learned many years ago also is physics. But life is about. AYNI. There's a couple of episodes on it here in the podcast. AYNI A Y N I. Which is a law of life and it's about reciprocity. Now where I'm going here. How and why would spirit be any different?
Why it doesn't, it's not. So, what we give spirit. Are what spirit gives back to us. And I've simplified that a little bit. But basically, what we give spirit is the energy that we're creating and the energy that we're creating, call it, force, call it essence, call it spirit, call it, whatever. As reciprocating, the energy that we're giving the spirit. But a lot of people. They, they give to spirit in basically what I would call a religious way. A lot of people aren't religious. I mean, a lot of people. Say I believe in God. Yes. I believe in the Christian God or whatever, but I believe in God. And then guess what? When it's not convenient for them to literally have the relationship with God. Then, what they get into is, well, I'm back up. What they do is I'm busy. I don't have time for God, but you know what. Holy cow now I'm physically ill. And I need help with this. I'm gonna need help with that. And I'm really afraid. And I got diagnosed with this or that God, please help me. And of course, I'm speaking in generalities.
But I see a lot of people doing that. And I think the purpose here is to ask yourself, Let's not tall stones. Let's not feel bad about it, but you yourself, if you're a spiritualist. Where's your devotion and where's your commitment. Is your devotion to 3d. As your commitment to 3-d meaning the things in your physical life. Or is your devotion and commitment first? To at least for a few minutes a day. Sitting down. And connecting with the essence. Of divine energy of spirituality. And if we want to really, I'm, I'm searching for words here. If we want to call on spirit and ask spirit for help. We've got to pay the account. Meaning we have to put something in, in terms of energy for spirit to respond to that.
We're most of us live from and I'm using most because I been there. Trust me. I've been there. Is there is an ancient book called the Kybalion. And I've mentioned, you know, I mentioned it here probably a dozen times. K Y B A L I O N. And it's believed that the original author of the Kybalion was HermesTrismegistusis and the Kybalion and his about the hermetic teachings. And one of the seven cosmic laws is the law correspondents. As below. So above. So below as above. And where many of us work from is not the duality. Because that's the complete picture, so to speak. Most of us don't live from the duality of as above, so below, so below as above. Now the way that I'm applying it here is we living from pure essence and that's out of balance and a little bit of human body. Or are we living? How most people live, all human body and identity and experience and a little bit of spiritual lessons and truth. That's how most people live. Notice. We talk about spiritual balance. But that is balance. Balance is when you, this is a phrase I've used for many years than other people have said it before. When I tell people. Be in this world. But not of this world. And that's an equal recognition of, you know what? Yes, I'm in this 3d world and I have things to do. And I have bills and I have my career and I have my kids and all those kinds of things that is BEing in this world. And that's part of the experience of being here.
But on the flip side. Being in this world, but not of this world, meaning Be of the energetic, spiritual essence that is within you. And one of our, our, our task, this lifetime. Is to learn to balance, to balance the awareness, to balance the energy of the higher to the lower. And that is truly balance. You know, I understand things like work like that, you know, work-life balance and all that and things that people talk about, but that is not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about this. Balancing. The totality. Of your essence while you're also having your life experience on the planet. Balancing your 3d ego identity and your life experience. With your spiritual and divine essence. And that moment now we're functioning in balance because we properly have things organized. Higher lower and lower to higher. So, the transformational take away in question is how do you to have your life organized? All around your lower essence and the emotions and the 3d and the money and the practical, 3d things, or some people that live with their head in the clouds all the time. And they're the spiritualist and they're also out of balance. Now, if you ask many of them, they'll say, no, I'm not on the balance.
Yes. You are out of balance because we have to balance the higher with the lower. So, the question is how your spiritual essence is organized with your 3d ego, which is necessary and part of your, well, it is your experience in the planet. How do you have those organized. Are they lopsided? Is one more prevalent or significantly more prevalent than the other or are they balanced.
