EPISODE 232: “Where Is Your Emotional Attention In This Chaotic World?”

I remember decades ago when I was talking to don Xavier, and he said to me, “You must learn to move your attention because where you attention is…is where you are.” 

Thinking back to 2009 and the global economic collapse. I remember how much economic fear that caused in me, and one day it dawned on it, “Hey, where’s my attention?” 

That is what is extraordinarily vital for you to fully understand. I know you understand it analytically, but do you understand it emotionally? 

If you’re getting into any kind of fear about anything then you understand it but you don’t know it. 

I can’t state strongly enough, any and every single time you are feeling the least bit of fear, worry, or anxiety about the world, that is where your attention is. 

And, where your attention is…that’s where you are keeping your vibration and frequency, and that’s exactly what you are attracting right back into your life. 

Many of us are using our emotions against ourselves. 

I want to remind you, the name of this podcast is: Transforming Your Life From The Inside Out, and when you’re in fear and the situations in the world, though it is inside of you, per se, it’s coming from some reaction to something outside of you. And, that in itself is living your life backward. 

This entire conversation reminds me of something a friend said to me, he’s a former Navy Seal and he said, “Calm seas don’t make great sailors.” 

And, as we look at the world and it’s definitely not a calm sea, but are you going to live your life from the inside out and allow yourself to drown or are you going to become a stronger sailor?

Because your soul does not know human fear, and if you’re in any kind of fear, that is coming from your human experience, outside of you, not your soul, which is inside you.

And obviously it's a chaotic world, but I also said, where is your emotional attention. You know, for those of you that have listened for any amount of time first, I really appreciate it. And for those of you that are new, I often mention my brother-in-law. He is a shaman, a sorcerer Babalau and his name are Don Xavier, not the Don Xavier that you find on YouTube. I don't know who that guy is. Anyway, many years ago he was saying to me, and he said it just very nonchalantly. But he said you are where your attention is. And I've mentioned that many times before in the podcast, you are where your attention is. And he said to me, you know, you have to learn to move your attention because where your attention is, that's where you are. A couple of days ago, as I was thinking back to 2009 and what prompted that is all the fear and the chaos in the world today. And I was thinking back to 2009 about the global economic collapse. And I remember very clearly the day that the stock market dropped a thousand points and the very next day, it climbed a thousand points and then it dropped again and the entire world.

Financially was on a roller coaster. And as a result of that, I think a lot of people maybe lost something like 40% of their savings of 401k's and trillions and trillions of dollars of assets were wiped out that very day. And as I was thinking today, or a couple of days ago about the state of the current economy, I started asking. Where is my attention, because see, like you I'm in the economy and it's affecting the entire planet? Now we're all in the economy in different ways. I mean, billionaires might be affected differently than let's say somebody working a minimum wage job and myself I'd be very well financially. But I'm also in the middle of some investments. I'm also in the middle of wanting to sell my current home. I'm in the middle of building a brand-new home across town. Interest rates could affect that all supply chains are cutting off supplies and they're hard to get, and it's taking 6, 7, 8 months to get windows. And, then the cost of goods. I bought the house for several million dollars before it was built. And it's in the process of being built. And for the most part. All the construction material has gone up in price and I'm constantly writing checks to cover how much everything has risen, you know, the cost of risen. And I was thinking, where's my attention.

Now where I am in the middle of this is. Eh, nothing I can do about it. All that I can do is keep paddling and ride the wave. And I think back to many years ago, 2009, and I started thinking about me back then, because candidly, I was a basket case. Even back what, 13 years ago, I was getting into worry, like what's gonna happen and what's gonna happen here. And, you know, investments and this and that, all these kinds of things. And it served no purpose. As I look back at that, and the embarrassing thing was Don Xavier a year taught me years prior to that you are where your attention is. It's so easy for us to keep our attention on what's convenient or what's in the moment or what's right in front of us. And right now, the economy is pretty much in front of everyone in some capacity, some way to some degree. So, the question to you is relative to the economy, where is your attention? I can't stress enough, seriously. How important it is that you not just get this concept that you not just understand it analytically, but you come to know it. You know, you probably have heard me say before. There's a difference between knowing and understanding you obviously understand what a broken arm is, but if you've never had one, you don't know what a broken arm is.

You obviously understand what heart failure might be. Or a stroke, but if you've never had one, you don't understand it. And I didn't understand those two things. The last two, the heart failure and the stroke until 2020. And I had both in the same year. And let me just tell you, there's a difference, a huge fricking difference between understanding what heart failure is and a stroke and knowing it because knowing it can be quite challenging living through the experience of healing. So, for everyone new that's listening, I say that a lot in this podcast, we can understand a lot of things, but until we know it, we don't demonstrate the knowing in our life. We tend to go back to convenience, back to conveniently forgetting things that will service.

So, what I wanna share is if you're getting into any and I mean, any kind of fear right now, Any, and I don't care who you are, and I've coached people that have companies that make hundreds of millions, uh, you know, of dollars per year. And I coach one to one, which I don't do anymore, but only multimillionaires. And we have people from the, you know, from all walks of life, listening to podcast, I don't care what level you're at. If you're experiencing any kind of fear, then guess what. You're emotionally getting into that and look where emotionally your attention is. And I'm gonna just share with you right now. That's not a good place.

The reason that I say it's not a good place. Because notice this, if you're concerned about the economy, that means you're concerned about money and security. And then if you go back and you listen to episode number nine, where I talk about the law of attraction and frequency and vibration. So, if you're concerned about money and you're in fear about that, what you must look at is, okay, what are my thoughts? That translate into my feelings that translate into my vibration, which translate into my frequency. And in that moment through your thoughts and feelings and vibration and frequency, you're bringing more fear back into your life, which is the exact opposite of what you want to bring in your life. That's why it's vital that you do not just understand this concept. You are where your attention is. You come to know. You know, an example that I use is if you think back to COVID and it's still going on in the world, but back when it was really, I'm gonna use the word bad on the planet, and a lot of people had it and all the doom and gloom, and you look at the news and they have the, the counters of all the people that have, have passed transitioned over because of COVID, which honestly, it wasn't just because of COVID it was because of secondary conditions and other things.

But anyway, when you look at that, Fear weakens the immune system. That's not an opinion. That's a medical fact. So, people are getting into all this worry and still do about COVID, and they weaken the immune system, which is the exact opposite of what they want when we should be strengthening our immune system. So, as you can see. It does matter where you hold your attention because where you hold your attention affects your emotions and then your emotions actually affect your vibration and your vibration that attracts your, that affects your frequency. And in now moment, By the law of attraction, which is physics, quantum physics. You, if you're in fear and worry, that's your vibration and frequency, but you're feeling the emotion because you're not managing your emotions because you have your attention in the wrong place. And you're bringing back all the final outcomes and circumstances relative to where you're keeping your attention. Hopefully that makes sense.

And I'm looking at right now, the economy, the economy. And I remember a conversation that I was having with a friend of mine. He's a former Navy Seal. And he said to me, he said, Jim, Calm seas don't make great sailors. And he told me this a few years ago, calm seas don't make great sailors. And there's a lot. That's, the truth. I mean, if you look at a calm sea, it doesn't require. And I, I mean this generally it doesn't require acute attention and mental dexterity and, you know, mental strength and mental fortitude and managing and physical strength simply you're floating on a calm sea when the seas are rough, that's when it becomes challenging and that's when it tests us. But in that moment, that's the opportunity to become stronger as opposed to becoming or allowing herself to stay weaker and get dragged down. By the current, which is what a lot of people do. So as this is all happening right now in the economy, I literally, despite all the things that I'm into financially, I just don't have any concerns about it.

And you could say, well, Jim, you have money, and you have this. And well, yes, of course, but you know what? It affects me. Like it does a lot of people it's affecting my wallet. Like it does a lot of people. In tangible ways right now, because again, I'm building a really nice home and I'm living in one. Now that the market's dead for the price point, I wanna sell my home for and for what it's actually, or was worth six months ago, I run a business. I have nine full-time employees, you know, all of these things. Believe it or not even this podcast cost money because I've gotta send this to the team and they have to do things with it. And everywhere that it goes with all the team members and things that are done for social media engagement and expansion of the business. So, we're all affected in different ways. What matters is what's happening in the world really doesn't have anything to do with us. And you could say, well, Jim, look at my wallet. It sure does have something to do with me. What really matters is how are you letting it affect you? And you're letting it affect you based upon where you're holding your emotional attention.

This is why for the second time, it's so vital that we manage our attention, choose our attention and keep our attention and places that create the feelings and vibration and frequency by the law of attraction. Again, episode number nine that we want to create. Go back second time here. I just had a couple of minutes ago about the COVID example when people would get into all this massive, massive worry, worry, worry, worry, worry. That weakens the immune system. You weaken the immune system. Now you're more susceptible to actually getting COVID or having COVID the same thing now, if you are actually letting your attention go to CNN and Fox and Reuters and Bloomberg and the wall street journal and the worst place you can let your attention go is into the I'm trying to be careful with my words, but is, is to let your attention go onto a Facebook wall or to Twitter, or mainly eventually the big two and look at all the fear and the doom and the gloom and poor me. And what am I gonna do? And this and that really do you wanna live in the midst of all of that, because that's a choice. And even though you might physiologically as a human being, you know, you live in the middle of that, but you have to look at how that affects you energetically.

And I'm gonna tell you right now, it affects you energetically in ways that are not healthy. So, the reality is stay off of it and stay out of it. I don't watch the news. I check in with the news, maybe every once every three, four weeks just to see what's happening. And it's always the same kind of drama and it's always this, and it's always that and always this and always that, something I said on Instagram live today is the media. Media is a for-profit business. And the way that the media makes money is through advertising. And the way to bring in more advertising dollars is to put more eyeballs on a page, whatever page it is, whatever company has that page, whether it's Fox or CNN or whoever. Now the reason you see, one of the reasons you see so much negative news is because fear is hardwired in the brain. I mean, we are hardwired for survival and when people think they are confronting fear, it engages a particular part of the brain called the older part of the brain. And it, it affects all the brain, but primarily the amygdala, which is a part of the brain responsible for fear and regulating fear and danger. And then the reptilian part of the brain. Which is a primal part of the brain. And that part of the brain is responsible for fight or flight.

That being said, When the media keeps you in fear, what do you do? You check in, you check in, you read, you, confirm you hope you wish you want you pray. You know, you pray, you check into the media what's happening today. What happened here? What happened in the stock market? What happened? Blah, blah, blah. And guess what more people advertise, advertising dollars, click, click, click, everyone cashes out Cha ching the media industry and the advertisers with the exception of you. Because you're the one being hurt. So, the objective is going forward is where do you keep your attention? Keep it on the outcomes that you want, but let's track this. What I request that you do is as of right now, as soon as you're done with this episode, start paying attention, put a sticky note on your refrigerator, your office desk, maybe a note in the car, maybe even carry a, you know, a sticky in your pocket or a three by five or something.

All it has to say is how many times have I gotten into fear today and keep track of that and notice that because when you're in fear, as I've already said, when you're in fear, that's what, you know, that's where your attention is. And that's what you are creating in your life, through your frequency and vibration. Also, as you know, the name of this podcast Is transforming your life from the inside out. If you're getting into fear, I'm gonna just say this in a black and white kind of way. If you're getting into fear and you're allowing it and you're keeping your attention there, you're living your life backwards. You're living from the outside in instead of the inside out. And something that I tell people is we're dualistic. I mean, we are human being and we're soul we're spirit. We're ego and we're spirit. We're on the planet and we're simultaneously being dualistic beings, not on the planet. And right now, do you think your soul cares what's happening on the planet.

Do you think your soul cares what Putin is doing? Do you think your soul cares what Jamie Diamond said this week? Do you think your soul cares about inflation? No, because that's higher function of you. That's cosmology, that's higher mind. It doesn't care about the current circumstances on the earth because it lives continuously, which I've talked about in other episodes before. So, your takeaway is third time. If you're in any kind of fear, you're living backwards, you're living from the outside in and specifically you have your attention in a hurtful and in the wrong place. If you want to actually do well and thrive while everyone around, not everyone, but a lot of people around you are dog paddling.

And they're dog paddling out of fear when it's not necessary, there's money everywhere. There's opportunity everywhere. Even in this current climate, I guarantee you, I am. There are still people making money. There are still people making a lot of money. So, the question transformational takeaway again, you are where your attention is, so manage your attention well, thanks for listening. Hey there.
