EPISODE 239: “How You Restrict The Universe”

October 12, 2022

Crazy podcast title, right? I mean who thinks they can actually restrict the universe?

To be more specific, it’s not that we restrict the universe, it’s that we restrict the flow of consciousness through us and that in itself is restricting the universe.

So, why does it happen this way?

We restrict consciousness because we are like a filter for consciousness and what gets filtered “through us” is what what we are able to allow to filter through us.

And, what we allow to flow through us is a reflection of our subconscious identity.

What you can “see for yourself” is what the universe will deliver to you. Why? Because the universe reflects you.

In this episode, I share a shamanic parable of men looking for cattle, and they are both sent the same direction but told they’d find different amounts of cattle.

Why were they sent in the same direction, but told they would find a different number of cattle? Easy, the shaman who directed them said they would only find what they could “ see” for themselves.

And, what you can see for yourself is your “identity filter.” Your identity filter filters cosmic consciousness through you.

Transformational Takeaway

If you’re living from your circumstances you’re then denying and ignoring your birth right.

You are restricting the infiniteness of the universe with the limits of who you think you are, and that even applies to who you think you are spiritually.

Expand your vision for yourself.

E239

You're listening to the Transform your Life from the Inside Out podcast. This episode is titled How You Restrict The Universe. I know that's a huge title and you could think, well, you know, Jim, I'm just one person amongst billions of stars in this galaxy amongst billions of galaxies. I mean, how can I restrict the universe? Well, it's not so much that you restrict the universe per se. But you restrict the expression of the universe through you. And this is the exact reason why you don't have what you want in life in terms of your health, your wealth and your relationships. Keep listening.

Hi, I'm Jim Fortin, and you're about to start Transforming your Life from the Inside Out with this podcast. I'm widely considered the leader in Subconscious Transformation. And I've coached super achievers all around the world for over 25 years. Here, you're going to find no rah-rah motivation, and no hype. Because this podcast is a combination of Brain Science, Transformational Psychology, and Ancient Wisdom, all rolled into one to take your life to levels, you've never thought possible. If you're wanting a lot more in life, to feel better, to heal, to have peace of mind, to feel powerful and alive, and to bring more abundance and prosperity into your life. And this podcast is for you. Because you're going to start learning how to master your mind and evolve your consciousness. And when you do that, anything you want, then becomes possible for you. I'm glad you're here.

Okay. So, as I said about earlier, I said that you restrict the flow of the universe through you, and that's why you don't have the things, or the relationships or environments are quality of life that you want. I want to go a couple of different places in this episode. I want to talk about identity. And then I want to talk about cosmic consciousness. And how your identity actually plays out in allowing cosmic consciousness. To flow through you and your manifestation comes from your cosmic consciousness. So, let's start here at the very beginning. And then we'll just take this. This apart as we go. But, you know, I think back to many years ago, I heard a motivational speaker, and his name is Joe Clock. And he spoke. See things as you want them to be not as they are. Ponder that for a moment, if you truly lived your life that way, how much of a difference would that make seeing your life and things for what you want them to be. Not as they are. And that that has a lot of power. Why because one of your greatest superpowers is your power of imagination.

And that's why Einstein said your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions. What you imagine going to happen in your life is generally what happens because that's what you're creating in your reality through consciousness. You know, it's a Joe Clock talking about, do not see things as they are seeing things as you want them to be. And then Einstein, your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions. And then Anaïs Nin, we don't see the world as it is. We see the world as we are. As you're thinking about that for a moment. We don't see the world as it is. We see the world as we are. I want to share a story with you. This is an ancient shaman story. And the shaman was sitting with one of his apprentices. And this guy walks up. And says, holy man, where can I find some cattle? And the shaman points. And he says over that hill and that direction. You will find nine head of cattle. And the guy goes about his way. And then a bit later, another man walks up, and he says, holy man, where can I find cattle? And the shaman points and the same direction, the same place. And he says over that hill, you will find 20 head of cattle. And the guy goes about his way. And the apprentice looks at his mentor, the shaman and says, how come you told them? You told them. You know, you told one man nine and you told the other man 20, but you pointed them in the same direction. How come you told them about a different number for each one of them, but you told them the same thing.

And the shaman said. That's easy because I told them. What they would find based upon what they could see. For themself. And what that means is you're going to create in your life based upon what you can see for yourself. And many of us have very limited visions and identity for ourselves. And I'm no exception to the rules. I remember many years ago when my brother-in-law's mentor, who is also a shaman. He said to me, now my brother-in-law is called a Nagual, N A G U A L and his, Nagual said to me, he goes, it doesn't matter what I can see in you. It doesn't matter what your Nagual can see in you. What matters is what you can see in yourself. As you're listening ponder your life. Take a survey of where you are Your relationships, your health, your wellness, your money, and the circumstances of your life. I'm being serious. Look at your life right now and just kind of survey and scan and think about your life.

Well, whatever you're thinking about. You're thinking about it because that's all that you can see for yourself. Because what you can see for yourself, if you go back to the very first episode or thereabouts about what is transformation. And then the first five episodes that talk about identity, I believe is you only see the world through your self-image. You cannot see anything outside the context of the image you hold for yourself. So however, you see yourself and your identity? Is how you will experience the world. It's how you will see the world. And then how you see the world is what you will create in the world. Most of us is upset over and over and over again, most of us actually work from circumstance. And I've said before, when you work from circumstance, you will repeat your circumstance. No matter how much you want to fight, you want to argue, you want to disagree. Doesn't matter to me because. When you work by circumstance, you can only work by circumstance. And when you can only work by circumstance, you can never outperform that circumstance.

However, that comes from our identity because our identity creates the perceptions of what the circumstance is and then what we can do in the circumstance. So, you're trapped by your identity. No matter where you are. If you're making a hundred thousand a year, a hundred million a year or a hundred billion dollars. All of these people and all these places are still trapped. By the concept of identity, but we can say, well, I only made a hundred thousand dollars this year and someone else made a billion. They're not crapped. Yes, they are because they didn't make 10 billion, 20 billion, 30 billion, 50 billion why, because they're also working within their context of the vision, they have for themself. I know I've mentioned this before. But many years ago, I used to speak at an event that had large speakers and Donald Trump was one of the speakers and this was many years ago, 15 years ago. And I never stood, you know, I never hung around to hear him speak or any of that, or any of the other speakers for that matter.

And Tony Robbins was there and Dr. Phil and Susie Orman and Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump and people like that. Basically, I went to do what I had to do, which was speak, and then I would leave. But one day I was running a bit behind, maybe waiting for a friend. I don't remember. I was backstage and I heard Donald Trump say that. In the early nineties, he was walking in the streets of New York city, and he saw a homeless guy and he thought to himself, you know that homeless guy. He's homeless, but I'm in debt $2.9 billion for personal debt. That guy's homeless. I'm in debt 2.9 billion that guy's better off than I am. And then a couple of years later, I don't know, 3, 5, 10 years later that Donald Trump again, has a mass the fortune of about $3 billion dollar. How did he go from 3 billion down, upside down in the red to 3 billion up in the black. Easy. You will always correspond to the self-image and the identity you have of yourself. It's like a. It's like we have a rubber band tied to our self-image. And no matter where you stretch above or below your self-image. You will always have equilibrium. He was a multi-billionaire. And even though his circumstances, you know, demonstrated that he didn't have any money and he was broken by billions of dollars. Just like a rubber band, pulled him right back his self-image to being a multi-billionaire again. Stop. Ponder. This is really, really important for you because see, you're listening to this podcast for a reason. You're listening because you want to create something new, something better, something different in your life.

But until you learn. Which I teach in the Transformational Program. My Transformational Program, which had a twice a year. Until you, until you actually grow out of the old self-image and into a new one. There's no way, no matter what you do, or you think you can do, or no matter how much effort you put out, you will always rebound and bounce back to your original self-image. And that's why I say to people you can never outperform yourself identity. See, however, and whatever you identify with, think about that. Let's look at it this way look at your external environment. Look at your car. Look at what your car cost you. Look at your home. Look at your relationships. Look at everything around you and your external environment that is what you identify with. Because what you identify with. Is what you create out of your behavior and your behavior is bound by the context of your self-image. So therefore, even though you want to create more by doing more, that doesn't work, which is what we think we have to do. Oh. If I do more roll up my sleeves and work harder, but I'm going to have more money.

Well, why is it? We might have a little bit more money, 5%, 7%, maybe 10% more. Over the course of two to five years, but we never become really wealthy. Why because we can never escape the prison of that self-image and what that self-image has created for us. Let me explain a little more about this from a brain-based perspective. I remember many years ago, I was a speaker at a very large multilevel marketing company. And the person on stage before me, I was ready to speak. I was backstage getting ready to speak, and I was watching the person ahead of me. And I was, I watched them for about 10 minutes, 15 minutes. And they were someone from within the company. They were a high achiever, high performer telling other people how to be high performers. Well, number one, a lot of that stuff is nonsense because what one person can do. Another person can't do just by doing a behavior, unless they have a consistent self-image and identity. Anyway. This speaker's up there telling people. Okay. I want you to write down all your goals for the year, for the next 12 months. And I want you to dream big. Dream really You know, write down that car and that home and that college fund, and this and the vacation and all these kinds of write all this down on paper.

I guarantee you. Guarantee you 98% of this people were pretty much in no better situation a year later. Now. When they're writing all this down. Here's a very key distinction. When you're writing all this stuff down. Okay. And you're putting down the home and the car and all these kinds of things. All right. That is left brain analytical thinking. If I were to ask you, do you think you can be a millionaire? You would say, well, yeah, I can look in the world and see a lot of people that have done that. Do you think you can be? Well, I'm going to go, okay. Let me jump around. Someone who is extremely sick. And I say, do you think you can be healthy again? And they will say many times. Well, yeah, I can look around in the world and see other people that have healed themselves. Can that person heal themselves and be wealthy? Absolutely. Does it mean they have the self-image and the identity to do it? Absolutely not. So back to my story. So, we sit here, and we look at other people and we think, you know, what. I can be rich, and I can be wealthy, and I can have friends and I can have a great marriage and I can have all these kinds of things that this motivational speaker telling me about. Or Facebook or Instagram or Twitter or Tik TOK or all these things that people are being in the world. Why can't I be that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Good idea. I can be that.

And then we look back later, and I've seen people write all these down on paper and two and three four literally years later, they're doing the same thing. They were two, three and four years ago. Why. Cause one thing all of that is left brain analytical. Yet your subconscious mind is for lack of better words, housed. And the right-hand side of the brain. The right-hand side of the brain manages more subconscious functions than the analytical left side of the brain. And I could, I could make it more complex than that. I won't, there's no need for it, but let's just say this left brain is analytical. The part of you listening right now, going, okay. This makes sense. But the right side of you, let's say you're listening and you're saying, Jim, I'm listening to your podcast and I'm only using money because it's tangible, I'm listening to your podcast because I want to be a multimillionaire. Left-hand side of the brain saying I can do that. I can do that. I can do that. I can do that yet if you grew up poor and you've never left that old identity behind you.

Then no matter what you think you can do. You won't do it because you will find ways to sabotage yourself. So, what happens. Is we live in the prison for most of us, the prison of a very limited self-identity. And when we live in that prison again, we can never outperform that image of ourselves, which is where I started and that imagination of ourselves, we can never outperform it. And becomes quite literally. An invisible trap and invisible jail. So, something also wants to point out is that your identity that you learned many years ago? Your identity has become your circumstances. So, you might've heard me mentioned before I grew up poor. And so, I grew up with the identity. Of someone who did strive for more than what my father had. I was the first person in my family to go to college back when the college was a big deal back in the eighties. And., I mean, my dad barely made it through high school. And I grew up in a household with an identity of, we're not rich. You know, we're, we're working class. We're not those kinds of people. We have to work hard. We have to keep our nose to the grindstone.

And as I'm saying all this, I mean, how much of this did you hear in your household when you were growing up? So, I grew up with that identity. And even though I did something, which is a behavior, and I went to college. Guess what college changed my educational level, but it did not change my identity level. And even though I went to a very good private school, and I did very well and had job offers and all this kind of things after college. I struggled with money for decades after college. Why? Because I could try to change my circumstances and try to change my behavior. But until I changed my identity, nothing changed for me. So, a tangible place that I'm going with this right now in 2022 is a lot of people are saying things like, Ooh, it's really hard right now. It's really rough in the economy. And they're worried and they're worried about uncertainty.

And when you're worrying about uncertainty, what you're saying in that moment is that you have not Why because you were a victim of the external world going on around you, because if you're living by uncertainty, what you're saying is, hey, let me just roll over like a pin ball. And I'm going to roll with whatever you know, life throws at me and whatever punches come, I'm just going to roll with it. And then I'm going to accept it. Wrong. That is identity. Your identity has learned that at some point in your life, which your identity learns what I call that model of reality. And you live from that model of reality, which I again did for decades.

So, what would be the identity of Someone who would say, you know, what. I determine my future, I decide. What's going to happen in my life tomorrow. I decide my finances. I decide my health. I decide my relationships. I decide. The, for lack of better words, circumstances of my life, because guess what? You do have that power to decide. And that's where I want to go on the second part of what I want to say right now. Is you have the abundance. Of the universe. You have everything that the universe could possibly want to offer you. And of course, the universe, isn't the person going, hey, I want to offer you this buddy. No, but what, what exists in the universe exist for you? Why. Because we can talk about spirituality. I can even talk about you being star dust or cosmic being, but plain and simple.

The universe is physics. And no matter how much you want to argue with that, of course, we will keep making discoveries in physics as our species evolves. But the reality is. What's available to everyone else. For the most part on this planet is available to you. And what keeps it away from you is the invisible context of yourself image paradigm, and you want to bring the wealth to you in life and the abundance. You must change your self-image. And then I want to go a little bit further here. I've mentioned before, is consciousness. See, without consciousness flowing through you. You're nothing more than a dead bag of skin. Quite literally, you are a dead bag of skin. Say consciousness is that energy it's that life force in you? But here's the kicker. That life force in you. Literally is flowing through the 3d meaning the physical body, the mental, your past history, your past experiences. Consciousness is flowing through you like a filter. And you are a filter of identity. Therefore, you restrict the universe from flowing through you by the filter of your identity. And if you want to open up to the universe and expand and let more come through you, you have to expand your self-image and your identity. This is how we restrict the universe and we put limits on the universe by putting limits on ourselves, because in truth, I know, you know, this at least analytically.

There are no limits in the universe. And if you're a product of the universe because of consciousness, there are no limits in you, but your self-image tells you and you get your self-image from your past history, which means how you, how you grew up. So, here's the question for this episode. And a couple of them, but here's one. Are you living your life by let's call it a couple of things by divine mind, by cosmic consciousness, by divine energy or are you living your life by the filter of your identity of your 3d ego, which is also your past history? There is no need to ponder that very long, look at your life. And that will tell you exactly where you're living from. You know, I want to say here. That we as humans have all kind of ideas about what life is and what it's not. And most often human beings go to dogma. Meaning they go to what other people told them. That life is and is not just like they found that in a book let's say, and they lived their entire lifetime by that book. And that book, you know what. I'm just going to share this, read between the lines, many of the books out there that you're told to learn from and live your life from are extremely convoluted. and archaic. You can take that however you want, but convoluted and archaic, which means if you're living by this yourself image. By a particular book or a set of doctrines. And that set of doctrines is archaic. You're living your life archaically through filters that do not work for you, which they bind your identity, which then restricts the flow of cosmic consciousness, which is pure potentiality coming through you.

So, here's your transformational take away. If you're living. By your circumstance, which is created by your identity. Then you're living in 3d. You're not living through, even though you might think you are, you're not living through divine essence. You're not living through the quantum field. You're not living through consciousness. You're not consciously living through consciousness. Let me put it that way. You're living from your 3d past history identity, and that's why you keep struggling and trying to change something, but it never changes for you. And when you live by your 3d past, you know, past history, identity, you’re ignoring your birthright. You're restricting the infiniteness of the universe to flow through you. So, you're actually restricting something that's limitless and you're making it limited. Why? Because of your limited self-image and the way that you see yourself, that you've learned to see yourself from your past history. So, the way to change all this is start thinking about. And I can talk about this in other episodes. And I'm like I said, I do talk, we do this extensively in my Transformational Coaching Programs. What can I do to expand my vision for myself? That's where you want to start What can I do to expand the context of the vision I have for my own life? That's where you want your attention to be not on your limitations. Thanks for listening and I'll catch you over on another episode. Bye-bye.
